I would say that Jackson's solo releases could definitely be categorized outside of the K-Pop umbrella, but at the same time I'm hesitant to do so because I do think there is a very narrow idea of what K-Pop is to those who don't listen to it. I know that was true for me before I started digging into it. Having said all of that, he did get his start with a K-Pop group called GOT7 lol.

He can sing, rap, and dance, he is the founder of his own label Team Wang. He was a fencing athlete, he joined Youth Olympic 2010, 11th rank in the world & 1st in Asia. He is member of Kpop group GOT7, but his solo works definitely NOT Kpop. I think we can't box him into Kpop, Cpop or whatever, what he does is just Music. Maybe you can check out on his other works i.e: 100 ways, Titanic, Bullet to the heart, Papillon or his 1st album Mirrors. Most his songs are in english. He will release 2nd album this Nov/ Dec. I would say his solo stuffs are more pop than k-pop, that's y u won't get the k-pop feel.
