They also used this song's title as the title for Dresser's biopic, starring Victor Mature as Dresser, opposite Rita Hayworth. It was based on the short biography by Paul's brother, novelist Theodore Dreiser ("An American Tragedy", "Sister Carrie").

oh, actually, Harlan was an opera singer at one point in his life, so that's why he has such a loud strong voice, I think that was in the 1880s I believe...

nope, It's Will F. Denny, it was Arthur Collins, but I changed it, It was Ossman at one point as well.
