@@videosfromelsewhere926 Yes. Those 2 male Tunisair employees do not look to me like common employees. Difficult to be sure who exactly they are and if that feast was provided spontaneously or had been planned in advance. It must have been VERY early in the morning as it was still dark when the plane landed at Tunis. That range of food, especially the rice, does not look appropriate as something readily available in a completely empty lounge at dawn. The encounter with the 5 police officers coming to the lounge in the way that they did and the way they allowed themselves to be basically told to go away by these lounge persons is also very odd. Not quite sure what to make of it all to be honest.

The men, well boys from like 15 to 70, all acting totally mad. Shouting at us, steering, following us everywhere. After 2 days, my daughter cryed and said she wanted to ho home. Like Now. We had to be there for 14 days. My God. Never ever going back. Even in the local teahouse Taj Mahal were the locals all came, including local women, we were treated like "insects". Very rude behaviour everywhere. Before going there, i told my daugther not to wear short skirts and so on. So we did not. But on the beach ofcourse we had on swim suit and were sunbathing. To me it was like very strange, why they want tourists to come, but hate them. Very sad. Im sure many tunisians are nice. But this was our experience back then. Ine, norway

Josh. Several years ago, I was by the Tunis airport departure gate, taking photos of the different planes. Suddenly, I was surrounded by 3 plain clothes security men, who demanded to see my camera. I showed them my airport photo's and they demanded that I delete them off my internal card. I did, and they left me without any further hassles. I suspect that they were watching me from a distance. It is going to the extreme, when the police escort you onto the plane and not the others. When I toured Algeria for 14 days in 2017, I had a group of policemen escorting me all over the country. I paid top price for a private tour, and they were not happy when I spent 3-4 hours at an archaeological site. It was irritating to have them in my view when taking photo's. The policemen following me around in the different museums. I couldn't stop on the road to take photos of the country, as my driver guide had to keep up with them. Very stressful visit of Algeria.

Our Country & Culture is far more better than that, but it's just our corrupt CEO, he doesn't take care of the staff and the planes. There should be an independent body who can inspect aircraft standards and grade the plane and service . This grade should represent the maximum the airline can charge for a ticket
@hb1338
@hb1338 2 жыл бұрын
Why ? Do your local bus companies have fares imposed on them according to whether an inspector liked them or not ? Are there organisations which grade your local supermarket and tell it how much to charge for a loaf of bread ? FWIW, all ticket prices on international flights are fixed by bilateral agreements between the two governments concerned, with some extra conditions for fifth freedom flights. What Josh Cahill doesn't appear to have thought about is how representative his flight was of Tunis Air. How does he know whether the aircraft and its crew were the best in the fleet or the worst ? Trivial example - I flew two consecutive sectors on the same major European airline, into and out of its main hub. One sector was awful in every possible way, the other was extremely pleasant - how should I grade that airline ?

Hey Josh, Tunisian here living in Germany. I’ve always loved my „flag carrier“ Tunisair a lot but what you have experienced here is far too much off a disgrace and utterly unacceptable. I hope that this goes viral again and that you receive the credits for such a horrific experience. We Tunisians are full with pride for all the achievements and the small steps our country is making but this airline should as you said just be grounded. I know every plane, every registration and many of the crew. When I saw the TS-IMS registration I really thought that it will be a clean plane because I saw TS-IMG for example and you don’t want to sit in that one. But even the crew was so bad I just wanted to hide and stop watching to be honest. ALL I CAN SAY IS THAT THIS DOES NOT REPRESENT THE STANDARDS OF HOW WE ARE AND HOW WE ARE BROUGHT UP WITH OUR VALUES IN OUR CULTURE. This airline has nothing to do with our country and is a run-down company led by corrupt ceo‘s! I was glad that TU745 was a better flight experience. #tahiatounes

I lived in Tunisia for two years (86-88) during my service with the Peace Corps. It was a small town near Tunis (I think of it often.) I had one camera issue when I visited a well-known historic town. The officer wanted to know what I took a picture of (I think he thought I took a pic of something military.) I didn't have the heart to tell him we have satellites that could read his name badge. Having been in Tunisia for about a year and a half, I was able to disarm him by responding to him in Arabic. This also was the only issue I had in Tunisia and enjoyed the opportunity to be there for two years. When my service ended, I took Tunisair to Rome. The one thing I remember was the outstanding service (we were approached several times to check if any of us needed anything.) It is a shame that the lack of good service often comes with a national carrier.

Seeing the U-turn reminded me of an incident at London Gatwick 30 years or so ago. A Korean Airlines 747 was taxying out for take off and took a wrong turn but didn't seem to understand instructions from the tower and ended up in the domestic airlines area in a cul-de-sac. After finally coming to a stop, he had to wait for a tractor to come along to push him back to a point where he could finally get on his way. It took about 30 minutes in all!What surprises me is that given the appaling lack of cleanliness on the aircraft, Josh touches his fingers to his face.

Thankfully they do. Tunisair flights are very safe and it never had any accidents in its history (Fingers crossed I don't jinx it). But the state of the aircraft on the inside is absolutely disgusting. I think he sums it up quiet nicely in the video but there are things that are worse than shown there. Plus it is extremely expensive like cost/value is way below negative. I am Tunisian and to visit the country, I go out of my way to take other airlines. It is horrifying to say the least. The state of the chairs, the food, the service, the behavior of the cabin crew etc. Now I do understand the crew a little, if you work in such conditions you are bound to lose your smile but still it is their job to be nice to people when people aren't being assholes. Overall, an airline company to be avoided, it is safe but gross.

I can tell that even we Tunisians we always avoid flying with Tunis-air. This company is having problems for a decade now. And if you dig deeper with a proper research, you will find that it is a political issue. This company is employing more than 5k people or it only needs 3k employees to work in good shape. Also, We're neither proud of it nor supporting it. Finally, companies like these do not represent us as Tunisians.

Thank you for the review! You've been flying on one of the "newer" A320 (Reg. TS-IMS) around 10 years old. I cannot begin to imagine how it would be, if you flew on one of the veterans (TS-IMF is about 30 years old). Unfortunately the A319 you took for Frankfurt is not Tunisair's, it's been leased for the summer season. As for maintenance they have to comply with the minimum requirements of European Regulations otherwise they will be banned. I can assure you, the Europeans are looking closely at the state of this Company. Most of Tunisair's fleet is just grounded awaiting spare parts, which they don't have liquidity to buy. And as you said "Nothing can schock me anymore", that's the mindset one needs to fly with Tunisiar. Happy flying!

Sadly , it's hard to change things because the problem is deeper than you think. The last CEO of the company was fired from her functions because she stood up against the corruption inside the company and it's now nearly impossible to start changing it for the better because every director is afraid of being desisted from his functions.
