Please note, in this video Julia Bradbury talks about her breast cancer diagnosis.
Mam Tor, which means Mother Hill, in the Peak District has a special connection for TV presenter and outdoor enthusiast Julia Bradbury. Julia is well-known for her passion for nature and wild landscapes - often sharing her favourite walks from across the country.
Join Julia in this National Trust video as she laces up her boots and sets out to climb Mam Tor, a meaningful place to her and her family. It's where her parents came on honeymoon and is one of the first places she walked as a child. Throughout this video, Julia discusses how walking helped her come to terms with her breast cancer diagnosis and how it was an opportunity to re-evaluate her life and health. Since then, walking has become an even more important part of Julia's life. She describes it as her therapist and outdoor gym.
Julia is a nature and outdoor ambassador for the National Trust and believes that we need nature as much as it needs us. In her new book, Walk Yourself Happy, Julia highlights how walking in nature can help improve your life. The book also features a dedicated chapter on the connection she has to Mam Tor.

I love walking up Mam Tor when I feel not-so-good. It really does help my mental health. It's just as beautiful in the winter as it is in Summer :)
