When there is a threat to the Beauty Way Creed there is an obligation to protect the way of life.
But our Navajo people in the traditional way did not seek out war or violence. In fact they tolerated much from groups such as the Anasazi for hundreds of years.
But there was a breaking point. In modern times the Navajo Code Talkers took up the same philosophy when WWII Came along.
In this video Navajo Historian Wally Brown covers in depth these situations as they arose according to Navajo Traditional Teachings.

Wally’s example of learning a traditional Irish song so that he can sing it to his grand daughter. I think that alone says 1000 words about the honor and respect of his people.

Growing up on the reservation, we played a lot of HALO games lol. I’m sure the HALO 2 theme had Navajo people searching for the mode. That melody came from Gaelic folks. Very beautiful, I think Hans Zimmer thought it was great that HALO did a great job with that melody and it might’ve inspired him to use the Bagpipes in DUNE. Also, Frank Herbert spent time with the Navajo People so I would think ‘Children of Dune’ was inspired by the Navajo Twin story and the Spice Worm was inspired by the Worm in the Twin Story as well. In the Story, the worm used it’s Saliva on the tobacco pipe that the twins used to protect themselves. Very cool stuff.

The Irish were the ones to teach the indigenous people of americas of bannoc/fried bread, dont get them confused with biscuits. The Irish people just like the indigenous people faced oppression so they are they few people in Canadian history to not be out right evil. Each different tribe in Canada has also had different white Europeans assimilated into, Metis being indigenous but mainy french, Ojibway being indigenous and irish. The crees being 100% deadly through and through. The west coast of the americas has the biggest diversity of indigenous people where most are pure breads or they got asian descendants from when the railroad was being built. The Anishinaabe are the also super diverse when it comes to which groups of people assimilated. My familys DNA tests tell us we have Sweden, Irish, Mongolian, chinese, eastern European descent, most DNA agencies dont even know where to determine where the indigenous side is because its not like they'd even care about that info.

When I turned 70 years old and all the doors of a young man were closed to me... I asked the Great Spirt to guide me... The answer came to me... " I'm an Elder now... It's my job to pass my knowlage on to the younger people in my tribe" This brought peace to my heart... And gave me a purpose for my reamaining years... I will be 74 next month... And I have been following the Great Spirt's guidance ever since he spoke to me...

I love ~ listening to Elder Wally because he speaks TRUTH & Gifts pf his Wisdom to us here. I was taught only until age 6or 7 by my Grandmother All Peoples & Tribes of the Earth need to learn of each other's Spiritual Ways & Unite for the Greater Purpose. She taught me mostly of Lakotah ways~ She spent few years with Wally's People in Four Corners area but she passed away suddenly from an aneurysm when I was 12 ~&~ she was in her 50's ~ And so~ was only able to teach me a little bit of her experiences living a short time with more Southern Tribes through letters she wrote me before her passing. I am still finding Her Wisdom daily in my life at age 64 X around our Sun Star. This relationship with our Elders has been lost to many too many of us in the recent 200 years~ Many are realizing this Great Wounding of the young needing direction of Elder's Truth & Elders Wounding of not being able to gift their Wisdom to the young~ I Thank you for this site with Wally to learn from. 💚🗝💚✨️🧭✨️🌲🚶🏾‍♀️🌲

I will attest to what Hosteen Brown says of the Dineh. I was treated with kindness and respect, in the 6 months I spent living and working in the Dinetah almost 20 years ago. I am a white male of European descent, and obviously, not a member of the Dineh, so I would attract discrete attention while going about my business, daily. The Dineh were alway polite, kind, and treated me with respect, and when I greeted them with a wave and a smile, they would return the courtesy and a conversation would sometimes develop, leading to friendship and greater honors. The Navajo are an intelligent and generous people, and I am grateful for all they shared with me.

I used to think we are all one, until witnessing the latest crimes against the defenseless women and children who have resisted their unjust wrath for generations. Denying them their basic rights and taking their lives in order to fulfill their own desires are not acts most people can even imagine being capable of doing unto another under any circumstance. Enlighten me, will you?

My dad and grandma passed away when I was a baby and I never had the opportunity to learn from them about my culture and ancestors. My grandma didn't want to tell my mom much because my mom was white. She figured she would teach me. But she passed away before she had a chance. So I grew up far from my reservation, culture, and people. I just recently found a couple of Diné relatives over Facebook. It is hard living between worlds. Feeling like I am not Native enough but not white enough either. I think there are a lot of people in this situation. I hope he talks about that in a video. I love these. Thank you so much.

I stood atop a hill in north New Mexico, and looked at land high & wide before me--about 50 years ago, as a visitor--and I felt as if I could fly! This was near San Juan Pueblo in north New Mexico. Surely there is my spiritual home…..I am not Dine’ but I try to claim being a worthy five-fingered being. In these times of dark evilness and persons taking pride in their own evil ways, your words sound clear as a ringing bell. Do we in the World still have to confront the bad spirit of the Anasazi? Do not give them a place to live! Cast them into the nothingness where their wrong living will perish with them!

Sir , I have my bare feet firmly planted on my home soil which is within sight of the sandy estuaries that the incredible Godwits , Kuaka in Maori ,come to replenish themselves in Summer , after their heroic travels .Each year our Town has a ceremony to welcome the birds after their flight from Alaska to NewZealand around 11000km in 8 days . The area here has a good supply of the shellfish and other goodies they need to refuel for the return journey .I hear the rustle of their wings as they fly over my house in groups in Autumn up to your hemisphere and I always wish them a safe journey and I will be happy to see them again after our Winter . They remind me every time that the whole world is their home and I like to think the same about people also . We live on opposite parts of the Earth but we all need the same things and the Earth is to be cherished ,wherever we come from . Thankyou for your wise words , I learn a lot from them .

This brings me to Peace and Beauty, often it's not easy but I don't think that I chose an Easy life! I pray for blessings for those who are suffering, meditate and listen to the Holy people, Ekhart Tolle is someone that I listen to and find peace in his words, I've probably spelled his name wrong but I'm sure you'll be able to find him here on KZfaq!! I don't watch the "News" or TV, because it's just a way to get us to buy cr@p we don't need and to instill Fear in us. I absolutely Love Uncle Wally and his Teachings, because they resonate fully. Namasté 🙏🕊️💞🌟

Ahe’hee’ ❤❤❤❤ I really enjoyed this one thank you . I try so hard to be of peace but so many people Are so disrespectful and inconsiderate and selfish. I know I’m not perfect if there is such a thing . I so want the beauty way . I try to treat everyone with respect . Some people make it very, very hard. And I fail terribly. But I continue to to forgive other others as well as myself . if we forgive others, we surely are meant to forgive ourselves as long as we hold ourselves accountable ❤❤❤❤

My Father, a WWII veteran, talked of the Code Talkers too. They were very important to winning of the war, and very respected by the veterans. It is so important to know our history, and to pass on the family stories. I am trying to walk the Good Red Road, and live the Beautiful Way. I am Rainbow Feather 🪶 Woman. A'ho.

I believe that much of our ways in this country has much to do with those that lived here before us and taught us the ways of this land.
