Dr. Katie is a small animal integrative veterinarian who developed a passion for natural medicine while I was living in New Zealand. Her vet career was lucky enough to begin in the beautiful country of New Zealand. She was able to see how living off the land by growing our own vegetables and raising our own animals was the way to live the healthiest versions of ourselves. Her pets were lucky to have lots of open space to run around in and were always at the beach or the river.
When they moved back to the States five years ago, her husband, unfortunately, developed an autoimmune disease. As they researched natural medicine options for him to avoid the horrible side effects of the treatment options his doctors were providing him, Dr. Katie realized that she was doing a disservice to her animal patients by not offering these holistic options to them. She began down the integrative medicine route and has never been happier. Through nutrition, acupuncture, herbal medicine, essential oils, and supplements, every animal can achieve optimal health or feel their best even when they have a chronic illness or disease like cancer. She currently has a certification in acupuncture and Chinese herbal medicine and is continuously learning about the other natural modalities and growing her knowledge base every day!
She started this business to provide pet parents with more resources for natural medicine advice and care because we need to increase awareness of how amazing natural medicine truly is! Dr. Katie's mission is to ensure that all pet parents have access to herbal medicine, supplementation, and nutritional advice throughout their pet's lifetime. One of her greatest joys is the opportunity to collaborate with both pet parents and other veterinary professionals to ensure access to all available integrative options for pet health care.

I have been to six vets and sunk several thousands of dollars into trying to resolve my cats skin issue, without any success. I have a basket full of crap that didn’t work. I am beyond exasperated. Your video gave information about names of herbs that might help, but I am still unable to have a firm understanding of WHAT to buy, and HOW to administer.

I went through the same thing with my dog for years until finally I tried the lime sulfur dip and it worked. It never came back either and it's been a few years. Maybe try it?

My cat has skin allergies also. I've tried everything for years. Nothing the vet prescribed ever helped, other than prednisone which just relieves the symptoms. Feel bad for my cat, she scratches herself raw, smh. I just gotta put that big goofy collar on her.

The diets that are good for the cats are expensive but I try to feed what I can I do notice when I bring back kibble because of lack of monies my 2 male seniors get short urine than I give cbd oil it helps. But money is a. Factor in foods.

My kitty is on a high end pouch style diet. I have tried making her home made food and even just tried straight cooked chicken pureed with water and she won't touch it. I tried raw meat, adding sardines, and the only natural raw thing she likes is raw beef. I was getting her treats called Delectables and I wont buy those anymore because each time she eats it her ears get gunky and itchy. It's probably sugar?

Would love to know how to afford to feed a better diet than kibble for 7 large rescue dogs. We don’t or know anyone who does. Struggling with how to afford, how to make sure the nutritional needs of 7 different dogs / different pets are met. Very overwhelming.

Fasting, no seriously, fasting. My dog does and he’s an eight year old puppy 🐶 And I have saved a lot of money, especially in unneeded vet bills.

Something that does my head in is going to a vet here in Tasmania Australia is more expensive than seeing a doctor. I feel like love oof animals is secondary to love of money, if i could do my life over again i would train to be a vet to help people and animals regardless of the money 😑🥺 my cat wont eat any natural food, any wet food from natural fresh fish to organic chicken, her food was costing $60 dry food, her back up dry food is $21 , so what do you do when they just wont eat anything, how do you know if it's an allergy, what do you do in the moment, over the last week my girls developed scabs around her neck and under her chin, nothing in her diet or surroundings have changed, i can feel them, she's so miserable, what can i do to help her now 😢 i have no car, the kindest vet we have is half an hour away by car, the closest vet is greedy as anything and unless you have $88.00 when you walk in the door, they won't help, but i would get into trouble if she's not helped, and she's in trouble already, it's so frustrating 💔😔.

I'm not a vet but look for food without cereals/grains. My cats are the same as yours. They only eat the junk food. It could also be flea allergy dermatitis. I use 50/50 apple cider vinegar with water and rub it all over my cats body to ease the itching.

@megs4193 My cat was so addicted to kibble, like it was crack cocaine. He would honestly go berserk and jump up on the counter, screaming and try to get it out of the kibble jar, it was really sad. I think they put stuff in the kibble to get them addicted. Truly. I can get really inexpensive 10 lb bags of chicken quarters, which is what I buy now and feed it to him raw. At first he wasn't interested but kept screaming for the kibble so I sprinkled some on top of his raw chicken to get him to try it. He loves it now. I still put down a few little pieces of kibble, just to get his appetite up but when all the chicken is gone, what remains of the kibble is still in the bowl. He'd rather have the chicken, I could hardly believe it! I keep the chicken bones and fat and boil them to make a broth and pour it over his raw chicken, that gets more fluid into him because he won't hardly drink water. He went for a day and a half or two without eating anything but at the end of his pouting and temper tantrums he finally was hungry enough to try the chicken. Real hunger and the will to survive will take over and they will eat anything. Now, that's all he wants. I think that the kibble will kill them, it causes so many problems, especially if that's all they eat. I get that it's convenient, just open the bag and pour but it's not worth the price kitty will pay. Some kibble is okay but they can't just live on kibble; they won't live long, healthy lives. Cats are carnivores, they have to have meat.
