Introduction to the InVEST Seasonal Water Yield

Jesse Goldstein, GIS Analyst with the Natural Capital Project, gives an overview of the InVEST Seasonal Water Yield (SWY). The SWY is an open-source tools that seeks to provide guidance regarding the contribution of land parcels to the generation of both baseflow and quick flow. The model computes spatial indices that quantify the relative contribution of a parcel of land to the generation of both baseflow and quick flow.

Hello! Thanks for the great overview of the Model! One Question concerning the Rain-events: I have hourly precip data. So does that mean, that I can have multiple rain events a day when there is one or more hours with

Hello, thanks for share this information of the SYW model. It would be nice to have an explanation or tutorial for Water Yield model of InVest's. I want to know where I can get the root_depth and kc data from different LULC covers and not just for crops.

In 4:35 said "Recent study from germany shown that SWY does not perform as weel in snow domited or arid regions"... Could you put the link or DOI of the article here?

Hi, I am Nicolas and I am using the SWY model for a university work, I would like to know from where I can get the Kc values for land cover (not crops but land cover such as bare agricultural soil, forest plantations, shrublands, among others). I am a bit uncertain about what values I should use. Greetings from Chile.
