For your transom shower, A recess, 2 foot long across the top of the crew door, that houses a 2 foot vertical swing out shower rod that fits into the recess. Or you could make a lift up door to hide it away 100% in the recess. Love the shop talk. ⚓💙

You choose to build at Bering so you know that you aren't taking any unnecessary risks with your life, your yacht, your crew, the environment, your clients and most of all yourself. They may not cut the costs, but you know for a fact they didn't cut any corners. The added benefit of having AC in the engine room is that you know someone isn't going to rush the job just to hurry up and get out of there, thus making sure someone wasn't on the verge of heat stroke about ready to collapse and rushed to do the job just so they could leave. They can take their time and not rush them make sure everything is completed correctly.

@@proehm there is nothing more important than customer relations, getting money off one very happy client can bring in dozens after recommendations, word of mouth is key my parents had their roof retiled, a month later there was a mighty storm, the roofer Geoff went round to every house he worked on in last 12 months to ensure his work was still good, needless to say it was, but going above and beyond normal duty says so much more, client satisfaction also key

As a professional in the construction industry I can say that it would be very easy for Alexei to be bummed out or put out by all of the owners customizations. In construction you always like to do things the same as you did the last time and avoid unknowns. Granted that this is a little different than slapping together an apartment building, but Alexei's attitude is very commendable and you can tell he wants the best customer experience and doesn't care if that comes with some additional complications. It's been cool to get to know him through these videos and he seems like a cool guy and an asset to Bering.

He's in the business of building high end semi-custom yachts. If he was bummed out by customizations, he'd be in the wrong business. Regarding house builds - have you seen Mike Patey's house with the (in places) 26 feet deep rooftop pool? :-)

I enjoyed the mechanical discussion. I just recently converted my 53' Navigator to inverter-provided AC for most systems with charging sources being the mains alternators, solar, and genset. I also have a few items that require either shore or genset for AC source. I do not require the genset at all while running and my genset requirements without shore power are quite limited. It's nice to see that I moved in the direction of the "big guys". It must be very exciting for you to participate in this build process.

I'm not the jealous type, but I'm feeling so depressed right now. With all of this technology and the Bearing reputation for build quality and safety- I feel like I'm being left behind. I've picked up the phone twice in the last week intending to call Bering and sat it back down each time. I think maybe I need to go stand on one and be able to see it first-hand and also be able to touch it. Absolutely love these videos! It's the quality of the content and the way the hosts and guests present themselves. Thanks so much for it!

Victoria, I like your idea of turning the crane sideways and making it into a bar top. I don't remember if that was on one of your walkthroughs before or I saw it on Tristan's channel. But I do remember it was a pretty cool layout.

@@NautiGuys have you and Rico figure it out a ballpark figure for one week charter in the Bahamas? Now would be a good time for me to start saving and my family. I assume your boat build will be approximately a year and 9 months.

I'm having a blast learning about ship building and live aboard, and now power systems! Brilliant synthesis of ideas in this episode. Can't wait to see the part with solar system. I hope you can make time to talk about wind power a little. I never thought about it, but I guess you could put a little vortex windmill thing on there someplace of you wanted to. Just curious to hear the overall power in/out budget to operate at full charter mode. I guess ships are the ultimate "off grid" sanctuary. Fascinating... please keep on doing what you're doing. Soon please put up your charter contact info or newsletter subscription info. I'm in!
