Their father took us for a 4-hour 6-wheeler 'jeep' ride through Canyon de Chelly. I asked him to join us for dinner. He brought along his daughters. After dinner they sang for us in the car park. We were leaving the next morning. So, they sang this prayer for us.

@@AnuraGuruge Yá'át'ééh! Hi, I am a Durango, CO musician, former music teacher, and passionate elk and deer hunter. I have had this video link saved for quite some time on my desktop. I am drawn to these girls voices. Very stunning! My wife and I have a little connection to the Navajo Nation. My Filipino wife taught in Newcombe years ago, and we are since friends with a wonderful Navajo family (her former students and their parents) that we visit every year for a Christmas meal and gift exchange. I write music. I do not do this for profit. However, I do plan on performing my music live, at local gigs. I humbly request permission to sample parts of this song. I would write my own original music around it. Which I would be thrilled to share with you as well. I would not sell or make money from this song, though I may possibly performed it for local gigs. Please let me know if you could grant me permission. If granted permission I would do my best to honor these girls voices and write beautiful music around it. I will not use it unless I get your permission. I know a few Navajo musicians. For I have performed once (a fill-in gig for his ill drummer) with Delbert Anderson, a super guy; Navajo jazz trumpet player from Shiprock, who is now making quite a name for himself nationally! Also, my dear friend Jared, grew up in Shiprock... and also is a trumpet player. I've played music with him many times in Durango where he now lives. He's a well respected music teacher in the Four Corners. I taught with Jared for many years, at a music school in Durango. Thanks! cheers!
