if anything he specifically tries to underhype almost every unit, IMO takes it too far sometimes but I get why he feels like he has to balance out the rest of the community doing the opposite

I hope they release a character who complements her quick-swap playstyle well because good characters who have no real incentive to be played (like Cyno and now Yoimiya since Wanderer) make me kinda sad. I'd like every character to have a situation or team where they are the best option. Like Wanderer being great for hitting mobile enemies and Albedo and Yae being retrofitted into mono-geo and spread teams respectively.

People don’t underestimate Yoimiya, people know her weakness and her problems. Thats all there is to it. A half assed barely invested Neuvillete will outdps her even with her signature because she was designed like that.

The problem is that it hurts reactions and has no beneficial ones. Even ignoring every buff and artifact set for anemo, it at least synergizes well with electro for electro-charged double swirls and aggravate swirls. Geo never got anything as good as VV or buffs equivalent to anemo to supplement to removal of elemental application, meanwhile anemo got supplemental application with a bunch of reactions. The numbers on geo with geo synergy does make it better than physical, but at least physical you more options when it comes to elements and units. A fat buff to Petra and double crystallize or stacking different elemental crystals would be a solid buff without changing the inert aspect of geo.

@@leiah6514 anemo synergizes with every element it swirls not just electro. It’s great on vaporize, mono teams, freeze, melt, literally almost any combo you can think of it has some use. Anemo is the glue

Most of the strongest geos in the game like Albedo, Itto and Noelle use Husk and you don't always crystalize in mono geo, which is one of the most popular geo teams. Making some changes to the element itself wouldn't be a bad idea. They could make it so that Geo deals more dmg to elemental shields or maybe give crystalize new properties. Like make it explode after the shield breaks or give a buff based on the element. You know, something to make geo useful since it reacts poorly with other elements. It's like you said, geo is basically the elemental equivalent of physical.

It really comes down to Archaic Petra. Anemo wouldn't be anywhere where it is now without VV. VV is such a good artifact set that it never comes off an anemo support character. That can't be said for Archaic Petra, and shouldn't be the case. VV's only limitation is on what it can swirl and that it's an on field triggered set. Archaic Petra has more caveats than that. Since anemo can double swirl., it means VV can double res shred. Crystallize is a one-at-a-time reaction. Archaic Petra has the limitation of only one buff existing at a time. Next is that while VV triggers when swirl is triggered, crystallize is a two-step reaction, so AP triggers when the second step is activated rather than the first which is the creation of the shield. Third, collection of a crystallized shard is difficult in cases where it's guarded or within the collision box of an enemy that's large such as consecrated beasts, meka harvesters, or primo geovishap. And lastly, with all those hoops to go through, it has to be collected by the character equipping the artifact set. BUT, if Archaic Petra triggers its buff when crystallize is created rather than collected, then it being on field by Archaic Petra equipper wouldn't be so bad. You would easily trigger Zhongli Archaic Petra, or do so when replacing Albedo's elevator flower, or even casually with on-field Noelle. Archaic Petra just fails to have the ease of use that VV has, and thats where geo fell short to begin with. For elemental reactions, the concept was sound, but it's execution fell when Archaic Petra couldn't be practical to counteract the weak EM scaled shields.

@@flamezforthegamez1056 You literally missed the point of my response. VV buffs other characters Petra should buff the individual user just like Husk. I doubt that Petra would ever replace Husk for some of the best characters because it's more consistent (full buff upon entering the field) and works in mono geo. No one wants to walk around picking up shards just to get a buff. Even if you get the buff upon triggering the reaction, to even be able to do that consistently you would have to give up something that was pretty exclusive to the geo element, that being a mono geo team (Gorou buffs 2 of the strongest ones in one team and requires at least 3). Btw even the new artifact set (which is an improved Petra i guess) will only buff you as long as the shield is active so cellecting the shards is still necessary. If you want an artifact set that boosts every geo's dmg with little effort, works in mono geo and something that involves crystalize it would have to be something like Deepwood Memories. But instead of decreasing RES or giving buff upon using a burst/skill you would have to crystalize first. And since Gorou pulls shards in, it would work in mono geo as well. Maybe you won't trigger it all the time but as long as the buff is much better than idk Noblesse (or lasts longer) it can still be worth it. Gorou is also pretty flexible with his artifacts. I use Exile on him. But reworking geo would still be better imo

Even wriothesley before furina release was like only 10% better than dehya in comps where you had all 5*'s or ayato before dendro, xiao, itto, wanderer with c0 faruzan/gorou did less damage than dehya mono pyro and eula barely edges out in her hyperbloom team against dehya.

There's also a flip side to this - When Xiangling isn't following the God of Thunder or Mr Worldwide, she *needs* Bennett to cling to her otherwise her ER requirements are beyond infinite. Wait sorry I said something dumb - she NEEDS Bennett to cling to her even with Mr Worldwide.

Her kit would’ve been the perfect fit for a Rev Melt carry tbh. An off-field weak Cryo app for double swirling setup and a NUKE on E giving a short but powerful dmg window that is a single elemental app is like the kind thing you need to make a premier Rev Melt carry feels good to play.

In that case she would feel kinda out of place considering how much she wants at least 1 Geo character to generate crystallises, and if we exlude her as well, having just Zhongli for example, might not be enough to supply her with a decent amount of stacks

I don't think Navia's survavibility is that bad with Ning tbh, because Ning gives 10% All Elemental RES with her jade screen (c4), cristalized shields are a form of interruption resistance, and there is Bennett in the team (which is always on a healer build in Furina teams).

you also loose uptime on her set buff, is not >OW MY GOD THIS IS DOGSHIT< just way to clunky to make it work and you have more powerful/easier teams options, I'd never really recommend to anyone unless you must play ning, then that's something you can do

Yeah, wtf. Ning does a lot of burst damage and she's the Geo character with the best energy generation, if you space out her Es correctly. Ning's problem is that all the Geo teams so far (Itto/Noelle) really don't want a quickswap attack scaler. She has synergy with Navia though, so maybe it's her time to shine. Going Zhongli with Bennet Furina seems like a massive waste. That's the kind of team you use on a hypercarry, not Navia.

To make crystalize consistently you need to bring a non-geo character that constantly applies its element. By taking her in a monogeo team you not only lose the crystallization reaction so you lose a lot of damage, but you also completely lose the passive that incentivizes you to take other characters of other elements. So no, for that point Navia is not worth it in that team.

No she wants more field time than Itto will give, and Gorou doesn't buff her enough tbh, and you usually can't get consistent crystallize in a 4 geo team. She's def not meant for that archetype

I feel like Yoimiya has a better element. She can also make better use of more units like Yelan, Xinqiu, Furina, Fischl and C2 Beidou. Heck even Nahida helps her with more AOE coverage. I'd say Yoimiya just for having more flexibility and a better element.

I don't think it matters too much, from what we know of Navia so far she'll be a solid Geo dps who is a bit more versatile then Itto but probably stronger then Noelle Meanwhile with Yoimiya if you put her in her best vape team she's going to be doing great dmg but because she's squishy she'll always need a sheilder So it mostly comes down to preference on playstyle, do you want to play on feild with yoimiya doing most of your DMG or do you want to be rotating through a team with Navia doing alot of off feild dmg

The question with bad characters like Yoimiya is how many busted supports can you slap on her team to compensate. If you got the double hydro core then you can do whatever you want and be fine. I don't think you would ask this question if you were waifupulling for either so I'd suggest pulling neither or going for the one you like more.

Well......he fact that it has been 2 years since geo character and crystallize centered kit meant that many people were hyped. After all....clearly they must be cooking something for those 2 years. Turns out......they were not cooking, they were just collecting dust. Geo is truly doomed and....so is navia. Geo was barely able to compete in the days of ganyu and xiao, now geo is completely out of the game with units like furina and neuvillete and healer focused meta, and reaction galore with dendro. Truly, rip geo.

Yeah, there are very few claymore characters, that are actually meta. Basically, Beidou was the only one and maybe Razor in his one single meta team. With Furina, you maybe could make an argument for Sayu (who at least is great in overworld), but that's about it. The other weapon types have so much more good units.

Imo they're just banking on selling her by making her character likeable in the story. "Oh , you want her to be really busted instead of serviceable?As GEO? Pull for high cons and have her." Itto all over again.

Raiden needing c2 is debatable if she does the job at c0 with the catch, and if you consider childe a top dps then raiden is too with the same team. Even xiangling is still top dog until now and shes a 4star. If you wanna count off fields then yelan is also insane. Neuvi for me is an anomally bc of his role in the lore. Alhaitham is just the only limited dendro hypercarry, even then nahida is the more valuable pull and id argue nilou is just as meta. Lyney is good but hes comparable to other pyro dps

While i enjoy that the meta exists and that there is a rule of comparison between units yea it gets annoying after a while.I think Navia is going to be good but only people who like her must pull her.Generally speaking u need to know what to expect before pulling a character
