Hey Rex I’m thinking about coming over to prime which pays better there tanker or reefer and on tank side food grade or what you do I’ve been driving 28 years and never pulled a tank thought it would be fun something different

I couldn't agree more, Rex. Don't allow other's bad days affect you. The way I see it, they have the luxury of having a bad day, but I have time nor the energy for it. Always stay positive and centered. 🙂

I followed your lead and I've been food grade tanker at Prime for a few months now. I did dry van somewhere else before and you're right that tanker has some BS but I wouldn't say it's worse, just different. Dealing with the pumps can get annoying but we don't deal with Lumpers and more of our shippers/receivers allow overnight parking so some stuff is definitely easier here

So you can put the landing gear down before you back it all the way in, stop with enough gap to fit your boot under the landing gear foot, back up drop your bags and disconnect, then when it’s picked up the next driver or you just has to back under and connect the trailer air, pull up and finish connecting

Rex if you are having trouble with your pigtail on some trailers, on the trailer open the electrical flap where you insert your pigtail and some trailers the contacts you can take a small screw driver or knife and spreads the contacts to make a better connection. I’ve been doing this for decades and it helps out in a pinch. You should also carry a spare electrical cord for a backup

Since day one trucking I carried an 18 inch pipe wrench. Used it once in a blue moon. But it was a life saver each time. It was just a yard sale find before trucking. Carried it as a pilot car driver too, I never needed it. But word got out I had one and drivers did use it. They are adjustable and can have enforcement added when needed.

Hey Rex I just applied and put down your driver code..I dont have any experience with my cdl but I was told they are not accepting cdl holders with no experience but since I have longevity with my work history they could possibly make an exception. Thank you for all the great content!

Rex when parking is tight when dropping a trailer, before backing in stop and lower the landing gear to a safe position then back in and finish lowering them, saves on your knees, back

Got 2 glycerine loads back to back. Ive never hauled it before. My goodness does it have the hardest hitting surge ive experienced, feels less predictable too

usually out 7-10 days then home for 2. Don't ever need to really ask for time off since i am constantly being swung into springfield mo.
