25 year retired Navy HMC( yes I should be a Master Chief). But I didn’t back down and get political. The SEALS I worked with were arrogant pricks and very unprofessional. They gave no respect to other rates in the Navy that supported them and their operations. I worked with the Army Special Forces in Afghanistan and it was completely different. We were ALL A TEAM.

yeah. Not very common but yeah they have a combat dive school that they can go to. Water operations are pretty rare in general, even for SEAL's. But technically other SOF units can as well, assuming they have their combat dive cert.

1 out of 6 Army SF does Diver school but it's way to get to land nothing in the ball game of locking from a submarine or taking over a ship. SEALs have a full time diver squadron in which that's what they train everyday and get the best equipment. Different missions.

Class 218 McDermott a site for sore eyes. Instructors: Hickman, Getka, Sholin, Ryan, King, Tafalski, Buchannon, Decker, Aeshelman, Bormann, any of those ring a bell. Yea, I was there too, but don’t get it twisted, for all of you wanna be killers out there, these guys, most of them, definitely not all of them are pretty squared away - but can you train now a days and be better than a seal? Well with todays technology, motivation, a bunch of kick your own ass or find the right training that will help you get to it, and a whole lot of training pain and recovery cycling - you can become better than a seal. My advice is don’t waste your life on becoming a pawn in the government system while the controllers invest/start wars/ and sit back here and get rich. War is the biggest money making operation and the most profitable way for politicians/controllers to pay themselves. And business is booming. If you were able to see what really goes on you would know why the chief players and their families always stay hidden. As for me and my new brothers (post-spec-war) "we work in the dark to serve the light"

Looking good, looking good gents, NOT YOU - Meeee!! And his bay watch videos were just awesome. Aeshelman definitely one of my favorites. Master chief Tfal, 1st phase Buck, PT studd Ryan, sholin pulling those sleds around the soft sand plus made underwater knot tying very interesting (turned it i to a breath holding contest. Nobody did mean like Getka. Accept maybe Decker - the only instructor that would beat you on a weekend.King and Hickman were always fun, cool, calm and talented. Chief warrant officer Borgman. Yep i remember them all very well. Do you remember when Zwieg jumped up during breakout and sprayed down the staff with the fire hose. And sitting nut to butt at the ctt with Mr. Bruce wrapped around you even under dcon kept me pretty warm. Scholin asked him if he thought it was fair that he had a fur coat (of chest hair) and asked if he was gonna take it off before he got into the water. Also singing those christmas carols at the ctt keeping them going to avoid getting wet a little longer as the slower swimmers (but not slow by any means) were in the water during morning swim. Barracks 618 and ptrr barracks - el niño and 36degrees 56 surf temp yep still brings goose bumps. Definitely many squared away guys. It would take a special talent to best some of these - or even step into the arena. But it is possible (not for just anybody tho) Hoo-Yaah McDermott btw do you still have the xtreme excursion business?

Great interview but its sad that you get rolled for contacting medical. I was under the impression that you only get removed when the medical staff deem you no longer able to continue. I don't agree with the ignore it until it becomes severe problem since depending on the injury it could lead to life time problems like permanent damage and that would suck to have an issue turn chronic on top of not making it past selection. 10:15 not reporting an infection to staff is also a big yikes. i get it you don't want to get rolled but that is an L for the navy since they had a clear infection going around, they could have made an exception for anyone who wanted to get checked out. Also, not sure why you thought talking about fighting through an infection was a flex when 1. you lived off base therefore you were able to get outside help via prescription antibiotics. If you had not been able to get them, the pneumonia would have kicked your ass since it would not be weakened. its not "mind over matter" its medicine.

The lore and myth of 15-20% passing is fallacious. How is it that during a P2 water rescue every single candidate gets a fail by a particular instructor that day? They needed to get 6 dropped before P3? What happens to the candidates? They get dropped from bud/s. Come back in 4 years. There is so much subjectivity until graduation after sqt. Even sqt drops happen over bs stuff. If it was a true performance failure or medical drop the candidate would know, but when performance is green, no medical issues and they get dropped it wreaks of stupidity. It would be a pass of 65-70% which falls into the same pass as Army SF or SO.

Bud/s med now at least goes out of their way to track and trip up guys for getting “outside help”. Luckily I didn’t have to fuck around with bud/s med and am now almost out of the navy with 80 percent disability. They are not your friends. Admitting any issues puts a roll or drop in the hands of overzealous medical staff that think they’re team guys just because of where they are.
@adriencote1798

He’s just telling his story. You are entitled to your opinion, but nobody cares if you think its “yikes” to not report pneumonia during bud/s for fear of getting rolled back or losing your opportunity entirely. Its the hardest thing many of these people have ever done and it takes everything being committed to get through that selection. They are preparing to be the tip of the spear after all.
