It’s so crazy to me that Kobe only showed up on the list after his 6th finals appearance.

Historically, Kobe actually did pretty poorly compared to his regular play in the finals and in 4th quarter situations. His 2009 performance was legendary though.

I think it goes to show how stacked the Celtics were 1957-69 when you consider the scoring of Baylor and West and yet they still could never beat them
@ComeQuicklyYeshua Жыл бұрын
Same thing with Wilt Chamberlian. The Celtics were stacked.
@williamtoad8040 Жыл бұрын
Exactly, also imagine how much better Baylor’s numbers would be and the potential championships if his knees didn’t completely crap out on him in 1965. They could’ve won 1966, 1968-70.

That should tell u how stacked those 60s Celtics were. Jerry off loaded tons of buckets on them and still lost.

This is the type of list where you benefit from Finals going 7 games as opposed to sweeping a series. One of the reasons Kobe isn’t higher is because so many of his early titles with the Lakers were won in quick series against the champion of what was at the time a weak Eastern Conference.

If lebron breaks all time finals points leader and surpasses kareem on the all time scoring list, yeah he da goat
@ericduncan72662 жыл бұрын
Wrong. He will not be the goat. He’s just stat padding at this point. There’s is literally nothing lebron can do to surpass jordan as the goat. Hell he ain’t even in my top 10.
@unspeakablyawesomebros33922 жыл бұрын
@@ericduncan7266 if he isn’t in your top 10, then your a certified casual. Lebron is now universally a top 2 player all time, statistically speaking he is the greatest player of all time and it isn’t close, in terms of accolades an argument can be made that he is the goat but Jordan still holds the edge on that. If you still deny Lebrons greatness than your just a hater.
@ericduncan72662 жыл бұрын
@@unspeakablyawesomebros3392 dude lebron is not even close to the greatest of all time. He plays in a soft ass defensive era. Hopping teams to win chips. Ray Allen and kyrie won him 2 out of the 4 he won and the 4th championship he won with the lakers was a washed out Covid season with probably the shittiest Miami heat team in history. Gtfoh. Lebron is trash. Not in my top 10. Go wish somewhere else.
@unspeakablyawesomebros33922 жыл бұрын
@@ericduncan7266 your reply has proven to me without a shadow of a doubt that you are a bonafide casual. The Kyrie and Ray Allen argument has been debunked again and again through various counter arguments. Did Steve Kerr or John Paxson save MJs career did Derek Fisher save Kobe’s career did James worthy save magics career etc, stop with this blasphemous argument. Lebron carried the crap out of the cavs and heat to get them there, one shot from a past his prime Ray Allen and clear second option Kyrie Irving didn’t save Lbjs career. The point about weak defensive era has also been hopelessly debunked especially with the 90s illegal defensive rules which made double teams and various other schemes illegal making it much easier to isolate 1 on 1. That Miami heat team swept the Milwaukee bucks and beat the Celtics in 6. They were the best team in the east but were not good enough to beat Lebron, MJ has also played extremely sub par teams in the finals such as the supersonics so this argument is again completely invalid. 4 Fmvps, 4 rings, 4 mvps, second most in pints, by far most in playoff points, top 10 in 3’s made and assists, top 20 in rebounds, not to mention the only player to have 30k points and 10k assists and on top of that 10 finals appearances. Gtfoh, Lebron is easily top 10, universally top 2 and arguably the goat.
@ericduncan72662 жыл бұрын
@@unspeakablyawesomebros3392 I can’t argue with stupid people. If ray Allen does not hit that game tying 3 in game 6 against the spurs, lebron would have 1 less ring and 1 less mvp. Same with kyrie when he went back to Cleveland. I don’t know if you watch basketball or not but that “debunk” shit your talking is nonsense. Ray Allen and kyrie got lebron 2 of his 4 rings. I don’t care what anybody says. Only reason lebron has more career points than MJ is because of how long he’s playing. Why don’t you compare them at the same amount of years then come back to your stupid ass argument that makes no sense.
@marcstein2510 Жыл бұрын
This is misleading. A player who sweeps 4-0 in the finals is obviously going to score less points in total than a player who goes to 7 games. In other words, the better the team performs, the LESS points a player can score.
@santosonly7 Жыл бұрын
4/0 scoring less may also be the result of weaker comp

Lebron might get there if he can make another finals. Steph will never break this recordm he's 700 points down. If he manages 30 per game if he makes another finals, that is over 20 games he needs to play. You think the warriors are making 3-4+ more finals to have that many games?
