Larry Brown was an excellent rebuild coach he could turn a bad team good in a few months, but he seemed to have commitment issues and would never stick around to see his product through to the end.

Can't believe Don Nelson holds the record there. Can still remember when he destroyed the Mavs in the playoffs with his 8th seeded GSW back in 07. Though I undertsand that he knows the Mavs system coz he was their head coach before he changed his team. 👏👌

And the NBA only played 65-72 games for the first 15 years of his career. Add another eight wins a year, and his wins total would have been in the mid-1000s.

People need to do their research on Larry Brown. He would undoubtetly be the most winningest coach in the NBA if he never coached at the collegiate level. Those years where his numbers took a break weren't because he retired or had a bad team, it was because he had stints at Davidson, UCLA, Kansas, SMU in between his NBA career. Some people say he had commitment issues but i think he just hated staying in one spot and loved coaching at whatever level it was. Not all coaches are the same and that's what makes a coach great. Each sees the game differently. And Larry Brown was great in his own right.

Honestly I give as much credit to red auerbach for the celtics dynasty as I do to bill russell. The dude was years ahead of his time, and an absolute genius. Finding a coach like him nowadays is one in a million, finding him back then? The Celtics hit the jackpot on that guy, I don’t think it’s irony that their mascot is a leprechaun.

@@andresvanpelt4582 he currently needs 5 to tie Nelson, and 6 to break the record. There’s 27 games the Spurs play this regular season, so he has a pretty good chance to break it. They play bottom of the barrel teams in 11 of those games, so 6 is probable.
