The fact of the matter is that Allen is STILL capable of putting on star performances when it counts. It wasn't that long ago that he was one of the 3 main parts of Boston's Big Three. They built around that trio. Just as the Raptors built around Bosh because he was their star. Just like the Cavs built around Lebron back in the day because he was clearly THEIR best star.

Regardless of age, Allen is still a cut above most in the 3 pt shooting department. Has he been relegated to being a role player? Sure you can argue that but my point was that when needed he can show hot flashes of his old days on the Bucks, Sonics, etc. He's a great player that most teams would go out of their way to get. Bosh was both technically and actually the franchise player. I don't see how you can argue that.

Lest we forget that Wade is STILL the closer for Miami in close games and seems to still be very efficient at it. Lebron decided to take the "short cut" to the championship and greatness. Everybody knows it and that's why it doesn't mean nearly as much. You don't get as much respect for taking "shortcuts" to greatness.

And Andre Iguodala was the franchise player for the 6ers. But that isn't saying much is it? Get real man, any reasonable NBA Fan could realize that Chris Bosh was not a franchise player. Allen contributes well but he's clearly a serviceable role player at this point. Allen can barely dunk anymore so he is CLEARLY not even close to his Bucks days.

To me he sounded more comfortable and less rehearsed than LeBron... And to be fair, they aren't being paid millions to sound educated, nor was it how they sound that got them to where they were at the time. I'm pretty sure you could've found better talkers than both these guys in that 2003 draft, but I doubt they could produce the way both these guys did on the basketball court! (Where it mattered) if I'm building a franchise and had to pick between a very educated/eloquent speaker vs a guy who'll score 25-30k points throughout his career who wasn't as eloquent as far as talking. I'll pick the lesser of two evils for obvious reasons! 🏀🏆

First 10 years in the league: Michael Jordan took a free throw for every 2.45 2pointers he attempted his first ten seasons in the league. LeBron James takes a free throw for every 1.87 2pointers he attempts his first ten seasons in the league. Not to mention, in all of NBA playoff history, not just the Finals, no team has ever attempted fewer free throws in a seven-game series than Miami’s 118 against San Antonio. Spurs shot 158 FT's, a +40 free throw advantage. Tell me more, please?
