It sounds so crazy to me that people talking about drafting Jared McCain when Tre Mann, a 3rd year 6"3 guard, who shot 50% 40% 100% in 9 minutes a game can't even cracking the rotation last season with the Thunder. Now, think Jared McCain can play any minutes with this Thunder squad after adding AC.

I’m sorry but Markk not deserving a max is a WILD take. What he’s doing with as low of a usage and below average playmaking is absurd. He could have like a 65 TS% if he was on this team. You can hate having to pay 4 guys a max, I don’t blame you for that, but it’s a wild take to not think Markk deserves what OG just got or more.

The Thunders lost to the Mavs, not because of defense. It was size and rebound. Adding AC is good, and that also means one of the other role players will be gone. AC, Lu, Isaiah, Cason, and Wiggin all play similar roles and will take each other minutes. Somebody got to go cuz there will not be enough money for all of them. The Thunders also shouldn't put all their future draft picks for Lauri. This is the reason why the Knicks is still the Knicks. They just keep making dumb decisions. If they are going to give away all their 1st round picks for Michal, why not sign Paul George. That's why they have not won it for the last 50+ years. The NBA is full of those "experts, pundits, front offices" who don't know what they are doing. They think tactically, but not strategically. All they think is trying to beat certain teams, but not all the NBA teams. In order to win the championship, you can't just try to beat Boston, or Mil, or Den, or Minn or Dal.... You have to craft a roster to be able to win all of them. Drafting a guy like Zach also means you keep him out of the hands of your competitors like Denver, Spurs, Lakers, Philly, Spurs...at the same time, improving your team biggest weakness. If the Thunders is going to draft another prospect and think to put him in the G league for a few years, why not wait until next year? They have 4 first rounders plus multiple 2nd rounders next year. For this year draft, outside of a handful of guys who can be excellence in the right situation right away, none will be a championship rotation guy for the next 4-5 years. Let's alone a star. They all have holes in their game one way or another.

21:30 I miss the times when reporters like Woj and Schefter waited to tweet until they had the real story. Now they will tweet it out part by part as the agent tells them that puts them in the best light possible. Thank god nba isn’t doing the “up to” bs that nfl is doing now. Takes 4 days before you finally see a real contract.

Can someone explain this hard cap rule to me because I don't understand it. Because we sent out more than what we took in we can't use more than 35 million cap space this year??
@tyleradams76153 күн бұрын
When you send out less money in a trade, the new cba hard caps you at the first apron. This applies to every team in the league. We can still use however much salary cap space and go over the cap line, but cannot go above the first apron. It’s an evolution of the rule that applied only in sign and trades

Well just my opinion about the presti design. 1. Defense, 2. Dribble, drive and kick is required. The whole rebounding issue is countered with defense and steals and break away points so i don’t see him drafting a project big that disrupts drives on offense. Maybe flip kind of fits. But i anticipate a bigger wing or PF.
@tyleradams76153 күн бұрын
The only counter against that design is skilled size and increased physicality as well as betting against our offensive efficiency. Dallas hit everyone of those and more that hampered this team. Easy counter is to add size and not zig so much to everyone’s zagging. If they want to continue this play style, they have to coach the guys to be WAY more aggressive with shooting 3’s and playing quicker. It’s the only way to counter the bottom 5 shot location given up and mediocre rebounding that we are almost destined to have.
@awethinic83792 күн бұрын
@@tyleradams7615 sure, its a difficult challenge. Im just saying that is Presti’s goal. Replicate Boston. The draft was weak with players who fit this style. Maybe Quiten Post was the right pick. 7’, shoots the 3, athletic somewhat, but he would have played back up center plus he wasn’t great on rebounding or defense. I just didn’t think Presti was ready to change course. Which his picks were 2 guards that are good off the bounce. Decent passers, i was not trying to debate for or against the style of play. I was telling ppl that Edey, flip, and the bigs of this draft didn’t fit his scheme and i didn’t think he was abandoning his experiment. Who knows if it’s possible? Chet goes down and its back to 40-45 wins seasons. I also think he is keeping his draft picks in case he decides to change styles to more traditional.

If Cody falls to somewhere around 8-10 I'd trade up for Cody.
@brdnsgfx3 күн бұрын
what would u give up
@elijahsowards2633 күн бұрын
@brdnsgfx 12 and either Dieng or just give them more capital in another draft I think that would get it done. Hear me out, if we go out and make this splash for like a George or something you won't be able to resign Joe he's too expensive you'll have to move him anyway. We trade 12, Joe, and Dieng for both of Portlands picks (7 and 14) get Cody at 7 to replace what we had in Dieng but I think Cody is going to be way better after his progression, and we grab McCain at 14 which is just Joe but a little stronger and better on defense. And Portalnd could still grab a guy like Holland at 12 or something if they wanted too and they get two really good young players.

@tyleradams76153 күн бұрын
Caruso is better, but to think that play isn’t amplified by less mins played, games off, and not really in the post season is wild. We need both of them. Dort to take on way more physical wings and Caruso for quick and longer players. Would just be really nice if we had a true 3/4 to throw out there as well
@jackiemoon59062 күн бұрын
@@tyleradams7615 not really wild, I believe Caruso would have better numbers in a vacuum. His off ball d plus elite stealing is the difference I guess. If Dort was even 3 inches taller he would be the goat

I don’t understand the complaint of drafting a backup big when whatever player we get will be a backup also i don’t understand the idea that any player okc draft won’t play I understand the draft isn’t seen as good but that doesn’t mean they can’t play because at the end of the day we just don’t know we didn’t know that Cason would be able to play right away Also don’t understand the complaint of being safe and not drafting upside but we did that last year with Cason because Cason was not this super high upside pick he was a very safe floor prospect
@jackiemoon59063 күн бұрын
I think because a backup bigs role is so defined. A centers max role is playing under 20 minutes behind Chet. It just doesn’t have the positional flexibility other positions have.
@Wrestle_Kingdom3 күн бұрын
@@jackiemoon5906 the same argument can be said for McCain who they love even though we have a lot of guards because I highly doubt McCain is going to play more than 20 minutes a night so either way we getting players who position will defined unless it a big PF but even they probably won’t start day 1
@jackiemoon59063 күн бұрын
@@Wrestle_Kingdom McCain can earn minutes at other positions. A center is pigeon holed into the 5 unless you want to play Chet at the 4 which is probably not happening.

@@jackiemoon5906 McCain at best can play the two he 6”2 no way he playing the 3 with shai,dort,Caruso,dort,Cason and joe how is he going to play. You can say well when one of those guys leave sure but at that point their no reason to draft mccain because guys like McCain are in every draft and we can just draft a player like him next year when the draft is better and when we may actually need a backup guard,why draft a position that we don’t need that won’t help when we can actually draft a position of need at the forward or big that can actually get minutes due to lack of position help
@jackiemoon59063 күн бұрын
@@Wrestle_Kingdom first off I was trying to help you understand why a backup center has a clear ceiling. Thunder play a tiny sf right now with 6’3 Dort. They’ve played sga at sf while having two 6’ pgs with schroder and cp3. Also Joe is not a core member so don’t lose sleep on what happens to him.
