Soccer better look out. Basketball is slowly growing globally. But I honestly think Soccer will always be number 1 globally simply because there is really no height requirement to soccer which probably will influence more of the dominate demographic of average height people.

@@tim..indeed What is it with you Americans and height. Maradona and Messi dominated the sport while being around 5 ft 5. This is no basketball.
@ledernierutopiste6 күн бұрын
@@MrKLeBlanc That's not true. Height isn"t as important in football, so even a short person can be goated, but height is still a bonus, that's why their average height is still above the normal population, and that on some position like Central defender or even in some role like Pivot striker (ibrahimovic, Giroud,...) you actually are a lot higher than average height.
@MrKLeBlanc6 күн бұрын
@@ledernierutopiste You are right, height have an importance for CBs, Keepers and some specific profiles of CFs. As for all the other positions, height is not important and can even be detrimental. Tall players like the ones you mentioned make for a very small percentage of all the players. You can even make an argument that the likes of Giroud and Zlatan would be better players if they were shorter. Zlatan type of play in particular would benefit greatly from a lower center of gravity. Giroud on the other hand is almost a CB playing CF. His main role in a team is to deflect aerial balls towards his teammates, and physically hold up CB's his size: Being tall is mostly beneficial for a target man. Height being a bonus for all players though can't be further from the truth. You give Curry's height to Maradona and Messi , and they'll for sure improve at scoring headers but on the other hand they'd lose a lot of what makes them goated like the ability to change direction in a fraction of a second for example..

If this is what you call “playing football” you need more education about this topic. This is called juggling not actual playing, that needs technical ability, dribbling, defensive awareness, strength on and off the ball, defensive cohesion, defensive positioning, runs on and off the ball, passing ability both long and short range, timing the strength of the ball depending on the situation, crazy amount of stamina, headering ability, communication, heart, and tactical mind, and I can keep naming things for a long time. But it’s your opinion bro and I respect that
