The Rockets haven’t been good the last few years, but with the high draft picks they’ve accumulated, they’ve built a nice young core of very exciting players. And a new head coach this year that they are expecting a lot from. Alperen Sengun is another young and exciting player from the Rockets that you would enjoy watching.

The difference between pg and sg is playmaking and scoring. A pg is the one that initiates the offense while sg is focused on scoring. Jalen is a sg

Okay this is a seperate comment to try and tackle the positions question. So, there are 5 positions. Point Guard (PG) Shooting Guard (SG) Small Forward (SF) Power Forward (PF) Center (C). Now this era of NBA basketball is a little strange to explain this because the leagues almost become postionless. But in the most basic form, its generally a height thing. PG's are the shortest, anywhere from like 6'3" and below, who are usually great at passing and getting people open, but these days most PG's are capable of being incredible scorers too. SG is a little taller, around 6'3"-6'6", they mostly score and shoot, but arent the greatest at assists and getting people open, or it isnt their main job at least. SF's are a little taller, around 6'6"-6'9", these guys are usually all around players who can guard different positions when needed and can score from most spots on the floor. PF are usually 6'8"-6'11", they usually dont shoot much, but score inside and are almost as versatile as the SF's but cant quite guard smaller players because theyre too quick. C's are usually around 6'10"+ and most score around the rim and protect the basket up close from any player who tries to score inside. Thats the most basic way to explain it. But there are many exceptions to this rule, Lebron James is 6'9" and is a SF considered a "point forward" because of his exceptional all-time passing and playmaking ability and all around defense and shooting and scoring, but he is unique because in his career, he has played all 5 postions depending on who was on his team, if they didnt have a great PG but had a decent SF, Lebron would be the PG. If his team didnt have a center due to injury or something, he can run Center aswell, he is the only player ever to be listed as all 5, but he is just that good. A better exception is maybe Luka or Magic, both around 6'7" but play the PG postion because of their all-time passing abilities and potential inability to guard other SF's who are more athletic. Kobe was a 6'7" SG, a little tall, but he was a pure scorer and defender, but his all time scoring ability in particular made the SG position make more sense for his career, although he did play a little bit of SF. Draymond Green is 6'6" also, but mostly plays PF and Center, he is an all-time great defender and can guard every postion, even Centers, so the Warriors would player him at Center when they wanted their offense to be smaller, more agile players to make it hard for the other team to keep up, but he could hold his own against 7' Centers on defense so that made it possible. And Jokic is a Center, 6'10", but he plays like a hybird of a Center and Point Guard, he has all-time great passing ability, can shoot from anywhere on the floor uber efficently, but also is 280lbs and very strong and can bully Centers in the paint to score that way too, and can also play pretty good defense. So its a tough question to ask right now because positions are starting to mean less and less, but most cases, a player plays a position where they can best guard the oppenent player at the same position, thats the most consistent way of looking at it at least, along with a little bit of the height thing. Like regardless of who it is, a true Center would never actually play PG or SG, and a PG or SG would never player PF or C. In fact this year is the first time in NBA history where the All-NBA teams at the end of the year where the 15 best players get selected to, recently changed from requiring 3-PG's, 3-SG's, 3-SF's, 3-PF's, and 3-C's, to being completely postionless and it will just be the best players in the league, regardless of their listed position. I hope this helped a bit! Its very long winded, but it is a tough topic to tackle, maybe a video on it would be more clear than this.

The Rockets at this point are not a very good team, all mostly young guys who dont have much experiance yet. But they had serious coaching staff issues with them being very lazy and not taking much seriously, at the end of the season they fired their coach and hired a new coach who recently coached the Celtics, he is much more professional and serious so maybe they can turn around this year, they also lost a promising young player in Kevin Porter Jr due to domestic violence charges, they let him go from the team so that may be a small hit to them. Also dont be too fooled by the highlights, Jalen Green is a great player, one of the best on the Rockets, but isnt an all-star or anything, at least not yet, he is considered inefficent when compared to league averages, but he is a human highlight reel for sure and can hopefully improve his fundamental game a bit to be more efficent. But anyway I hope Josh Green comes up at some points, young guy, plays for the Mavs, gets better and better every year, still truing to earn more and more minutes, but last year he showed a lot of improvement. He is very shifty and has some insane dunks, but also has surprisingly great passes too.
