The NBA added expansion teams that watered down the talent of each team, pretty much allowing the Bulls to easily destroy all their competition. MJ was 1-9 in the playoffs without Pippen. The Bulls won lots of games when MJ went to play baseball. The NBA added zone defense after MJ’s Bulls were no longer a thing (if they had added it earlier there’s no way MJ would have averaged 30 for his career).
