If you watched the episode “S3 E3 Just drive the truck” You would notice that Truck 66 wasn’t even dispatched so it couldn’t be 81’s fault because they were battling with a truck that wasn’t even supposed to be responding to the same call.

When you're in the firehouse and they call out emergency response, you only hear the emergency response for that house. I may have missed it were they said they weren't called to the scene but just from dispatch calling for 81 over the intercom at 51, doesn't mean 66 wasn't called from their house too. Especially if it was a large fire. Any trucks, engines squad or paramedics on the scene from the same house or not would have to follow the directions of the lead officer most the time kf the battalion chief, sometimes it's truck or squad officer who ever has the scene or is higher ranked. :)

Technically, 81 still ran the red light, so whether 66 was on the box or not, doesn't really matter in the grand scheme of things

It doesn't matter whether you're running lights and sirens or not, you still have to obey traffic laws. Do emergency vehicles have more leeway? Yes... unless they wreck. Then they will be held accountable for any traffic laws that were broken.

The freeze frame @ 0.52 conforms that Truck 66 had a red light and Truck 81 had a green light....I've been a first responder for the past 19 plus years and yes there is fault on both sides here due to not slowing at intersections while running code. The last part of the scene shows a green light for Truck 81. Every 1st Responder dreads going to these scenes, but they do happen. We pray everyone injured recovers and those involved are ok. We all strive to live and save more lives.

There is no way, no way, in hell, that the other truck could have gotten so far ahead in six blocks, that they could have made a 90 degree left turn, and gain that much of a running start at ended up at that intersection at the same time.

If you look at the truck 81’s mirror on Cruz’s side at 0:49 you can see that the light is yellow so Cruz past yellow and Welch’s crew passed trough when it was red

They were two St. Louis quints. I think they use quints as engines so they always have a ladder if they need.

In Memphis, a ladder truck was turned over on its side colliding with an Engine. The frame of the Engine was bowed between the cab and the pump.

@@PauwerFurry Memphis has four quints and the fire union was upset about the purchase. Day one a new Quint broke the rear axle and was transported to the dealer on a Landoll. When the new Chief arrived, she sent the quints to less active stations.

I'm a fireman for the FDNY, so every firetruck must stop at all lights. Whether the light is green or red, the firetruck must slow down, the driver must look left and right, and then they can continue driving, you're not allowed to blow through every light.

They have to make a controlled stop and check no matter what color the light is. If they don't the driver and officer can be suspended for it. My dad does a full stop no matter what if it's red,yellow,or green when he drives

this is a TV show but this accident was the caused by truck 66. even if they had the green, they should have slowed down for the turn. and looking very closely at the moment 81 rolls over. you see a green traffic light.

No it wasn't the truck was being repaired while the episode was being filmed the CFDs mechanic had no problem fixing it for the show. Truck 81 is a spare rig all by itself so it was not a hassle for them to fix it just like all the other vehicles for the show all the trucks from the show are spares including the Ambos but Engine 51 is actually a used unit and not a spare rig.

it actually was switched, at the start of the clip the front end is "boxy" and flat and by the end the edges are cut back and angled more than at the start

Wayde Anderson Actually no it's the same truck it's how the camera angle makes it look like they changed it the scene was shot as a live action scene. Which means nothing was changed. The CFD's mechanic had no problem helping the fix the truck they just wrecked.

There's no telling how many times two fire trucks collided into each other. Firemen should keep their helmets on when they're in their trucks in case it collides with another fire truck or any other vehicle.

Well that Duckbag Welch and his crew made Cruz think that he was responsible for the crash and putting Molina in the ER and 51 supported Cruz the entire way and I’m so glad Molina is okay and survived so he can tell the Brass the truth, Well Okay Welch, Looks like you gotta dirty conscience to deal with now Boy😂😂 It was clear enough Molina’s “beloved brothers” including Welch weren’t willing to do the right thing and take responsibility right away, They didn’t even give a flying 💩 about him, I feel sorry for the poor kid Molina who was under pressure by Welch just to beat 81 to the scene no matter what the cost was……

From the looks of it, it wasnt station 51's fault that the other firetruck rammed right into them. But if I am wrong let me know. I did notice a stop signs that they zoomed through but none was there and normally I thought they ignored stop lights and signs when on called. And again how were they suppose to know where that other fire truck disappeared to after not seeing it? I probably would have made the same assumption they did.
