It was great to see Dante getting in there and kicking it. The whole team was fantastic. Patty was mind blowing....getting a record individual score in an Olympic medal game....

In one post game interview Goorjian talked about how much he wanted Ben Simmons to be involved, not for how much he might contribute to this past tournament, but to immerse him in the team culture as preparation for the future. The way that Matisse bought into the culture proves that he was probably right. Simmons with his current struggles could have benefited from immersion in that team culture as well.

And still.....no Ben. :( So sad to see. He would beast it, in the Boomers environment.

I like that The Boomers win a bronze after so many 4th places....and that hunger and space to conquer silver and gold will still be there dangling and enticing inspiration. World Cup and the next Olympics in the next 2 years....so I would be surprised to see Mills still in the frame and hopefully we see Ben involved.

matisse thybulle my favourite player after these Olympics fr

Same. Patty killed it but I truly believe Thybulle just added a unique element to the Team that positioned them better for success. He added much needed athleticism and defence. Swapping out Delly for Thybulle in that final game was the best decision of the Boomer's Olympic campaign.

Great talk! Basketball has had its ebbs and flows in Australia. Hopefully it’s recent high profile thanks to the efforts of generations of dedicated enthusiasts will be the critical mass to get the engine turning hard enough to never need any more kick starts
