No scrap yard near me will touch ingots like that as they can't verify they are even solid copper or what grade/purity it is.
@eives44 Жыл бұрын
Doesn't matter either way you see the layer of black on top that went from bright wire to low grade because of that at most scrap places he made something cool which if he's not scrapping is useful bit if he's doing it for scrap he devalued it cause now he gonna have to spend time polishing to which he'll even lose weight so 🤷♂️
@LudvigIndestrucable8 ай бұрын
He is not doing this for scrap value, he has explicitly said elsewhere that the ingots were to be CNCed, polished and turned into limited edition merch for subscribers
@bfdmanbfd Жыл бұрын
If I was you I'd just weigh the bright wire in as is Because bright wire "at my yard" is £5.90 a kg And them ingot will only class as heavy copper which is £5.40 So your loosing 50p per kg plus the cost of all that gas to melt it I'd rather have £17.70 Than £16.20 deduct the price of gas cost You'll probably average about £14---£15 I not sure the price of gas so that's just a quess But fair play to you man you do you

@nathd1748 Жыл бұрын
@KZfaqRemix06 yes but is it worth the arseing about to 'test' copper like that? Here in the UK they're giving £6 kg dry bright (pure ingot) and £5.50 for "heavy copper". So a 10kg ingot is either going to go for £60 if pure or £55 if under 99%. They're not going to faff about drilling and testing for £5 are they? So they will just give you "heavy" price.
