Made a batch of this last week, works great in dogproofs as well as pocket sets!!!

Nice tutorial. The Iowa coon seem to like this recipe. Can Sardines Anise 1 tsp Pemission oil 1 tsp 1/2 can of Red crab soup Fish grease 2 tsp Corn oil instead of canola oil 2 tsp Vanilla extract 1 tsp Jiffy Cornbread mix instead of flour to thicken the bait. I load an old bottle of dish soap container think it's 24 oz. The nozzle is big enough to get the paste out of the dish soap bottle. It's handy because you can just squirt the mix into pocket set or dog proof trap. Tried different recipes and they did work. When I tried permission oil my catch rate increased noticeably.

Back when i trapped, id mix upsumthing similiar w fish oil only wed liguify it more and put it in old dish soap jug w the pull up top. If u lay a trail across a stream n put dry land sets on either side bout 10 or 15 feet from the water. Then udont have a tore up creek after the first catch. I prefer conibears in cubby boxes but legholds work ok too.

NBWildman 2 days ago i put it in a tupperware container and lug it around on the truck for weeks and it never goes bad. i guess the longest would be 4-5 weeks and it was still good. temp would be the main factor i guess.

Great thanks for the reply. Set traps yesterday nothing today but have faith in catching some using the bait tomorrow. stuff smells to much not to catch a couple.

grease is not essential, it does help with waterproofing and some with smell. bait should still work just fine without it.

Hey buddy how are you ? I used to live in NB I trapped out of the Minto Grand Lake and surrounding areas for years. I now reside in Ontario I have a registered line in Timmins a helper on a couple of others and have lots of private ground around my house as well. I am for sure 100% going to try your bait for coons hoping I won't tag any fisher in early season, I don't want to catch them until snow on the ground. I made this bait and have it stored in the fridge. After a couple of hours, some oil separates from the mixture. Should I have added more flour to the mix? Thanks!

Great recipe. The only thing I would change is adding corn gluten meal instead of flour. Coons go crazy over that stuff.

I was wondering using menhaden oil instead of cooking oil.... but is adding oil necessary with all the sardine oil included?

what type of set are you thinking?? dirt hole or bait pocket or what? I use meat bait at a gang snare location and for baited pockets I use a long distance call lure I get from Dakota line. At a dirt hole set I use coyote or dog droppings from another area and a touch of skunk essence.

will this attract or catch skunks?

Do you think this mixture is more effective than your recipe that uses cherry kool aid, sugar, vanilla etc?

yes you can, but make sure that you thaw it naturally, don't try and heat it any (microwave etc.) if you cook the fish, even a bit it will spoil on you pretty fast.

I find separating bate into four and vacuume sealing parts not used till later works good Then just cut off corner and use like tooth paste tube

could you add anything to freeze proof it? Problem I had this season with dogproofs, bait freezes and trap wont fire. I am going to make some up for next year, this bait really sounds like a good one. Thanks for the vid.

at first i didn’t think your recipe would work, but once i tried wrapping a flour tortilla around it and putting it in the microwave for about 30 seconds, it was delicious! Thinking about trying rubbing this stuff all my balls too

At least he's following the law. I watch two channels that said that it's against the law to catch and release and they will be doing it anyway. These people don't thing their fellow man only for a raccoon That is all ready overpopulated our cities and town. I bet when the raccoons wipe out the turkey and chicken population, they will learn.

i'm trying to get them out of my ceiling crawl space . Noo animal control anything will help me and the only way to them is through the hole the momma made in the roof. A trapper wants $700.oo day times how any days it takes. Then another $50.00 per animal he has to relocate. I said, "JUST KILL THEM!" Animal control says I can't kill them (i'm in Solano County Calif) . If I DID own a gun, I'd have prob already filled my ceiling with holes. Everytime I set live traps on the ground, ( i can't get physically on the roof) all I get are cats. So I sit and listen to them at night do more damage, and cry myself to sleep every. I'm crying now just typing about this. What can I do!!??? I'm ready to jump off the Golden Gate Bridge
