@@gyorklady I'm pretty sure he played a gay dog breeder that got stuck in an elevator with Dan during one of the early seasons. He was also in the clip show that took place in season 6. It's the two part episodes where an auditor is questioning everyone about their expenses and during the end of the 1st part Jack Riley storms into the judge's chambers with a gun. Of course, he is once again dressed up as a clown, only his name is Beepo.

@@bostonrailfan2427 Keep in mind that Selma was in less than 30 episodes, so we never really got to know her. Had the actress not died, she would have always been in the show.

It's not ahead of it's time, it's good comedy.

No, it;s just timeless. Short of clothing styles and a few lines here and there that date it some, this could be a new comedy shown this season. But it has one major FLAW to be a new show, IT"S TOO GOOD!

Rather than this being ahead I think its more accurate to say comedy is just behind now.

@@BIGBEART8 They don't go for the kill nowadays with comedy. Back then their only focus was being funny. Now with the way Hollywood is, their focus is checking the diversity requirement boxes and there's far more network interference that wipe away any efforts to put together a good comedy. I'll tell you right now Dan Fielding wouldn't exist in 2020. He's too toxic. Not feminine enough. Too much of a real man.
