IIT Employment Crisis: 1971 में IIT Bombay से मेटलर्जिकल इंजीनियरिंग से ग्रेजुएट और चार कंपनियों के अध्यक्ष, राज नायर (Raj Nair) आईआईटी बॉम्बे के छात्रों की प्लेसमेंट में बड़ा रोल प्ले कर रहे हैं. एनडीटीवी (NDTV) से ख़ास बातचीत में बताते हैं कि प्लेसमेंट कम हुईं हैं, कंपनियों में निचले स्तर पर हायरिंग लगभग रुक गई है. उन्होंने बताया कि वैश्विक परिस्थितियों के बीच किस तरह से भारत का जॉब मार्केट चरमराया है साथ ही आर्टिफ़िशियल इंटेलिजेंस का भी बड़ा रोल नौकरियों के आड़े आ रहा है. बताते हैं कि क़रीब 30% इंजीनियरिंग छात्र तनाव में हैं

Job are available but salary is low 15000-20000/ month and you have to work for minimum 10 hours. No one wants such kind of jobs. can't afford anything with such kind of jobs.

My sister finished her MBA from one of top college in UK and she hasn't got placement, even she got some internship for few months but they didn't make her permanent. She is currently working in a restaurant to meet her daily needs. Hopefully she will get the job soon, but she got some calls from India but U.K is dry completely. But as we have invested around 40 lakhs in her education, she want to continue in UK and keep looking for job for ROI. So yes professor is right, its a global recession too , but if you're skilled sooner or later you will bag the job.

Abe lund government don't give sufficient funds at iit see rti 23 iits just receive 12000 cr inr whereas stanford and mit receives 20 to 30 billion dollars ask government to invest more on iits or in genral more in r and d aur wase bhi rsd jobs are mostly done by PhD studnets not btech ones aur bhai knowledge nahi hai toh mat comment karo phela khud knowledge le Kar aao

आज जो सरकारी नौकरियां आ भी रही है वो ज्यादातर contractual हैं, पेरा मेडिकल की पढ़ाई में 5-6 वर्ष लग जाते हैं साथ ही लाखों रुपये भी वो भी सरकारी संस्थाओं में, उसके बाद नौकरी मिलेगी भी तो 15-18 हजार रुपये की वो भी AIIMS तथा अन्य सरकारी अस्पतालों में permanent भर्ती आ ही नहीं रही क्योंकि जब सरकारों को 15-18 हज़ार रुपये में बेरोजगार युवा मिल रहे हो तो permanent vacancies निकालने की क्या जरूरत है I इसलिए मेरा तो यही मानना है कि ज्यादा पढना बेकार है l क्यों पैसा व वक्त बर्बाद किया जाय I और शिक्षा के लिए कर्ज तो भूल कर भी न लें l इससे अच्छा शिक्षा पर खर्च किया जाने वाले पैसे को शिक्षा पर खर्च किए जाने वाले समय की अवधि में फिक्स डिपॉजिट करा देंगे तो 15-18 हजार मासिक वेतन से ज्यादा ही ब्याज मिल जाएगा l

10,000 is the new norm in india for starting salary. IIT graduate, doctors have to struggle for 4-5 years on this salary band, for 10 years you can think of 35000 salary brand, 6 figures salary only near retirement.

Can someone provide statistics of how many iitians work in the core engineering sector ? Most of them join banking finance marketing etc. Are IITs created to produce bankers ? Why IIMs are not starting undergraduate courses to produce bankers etc. Iitians must work to change the world by innovating engineering solutions for the betterment of society.

The universities are pathetic in terms of providing skills to the students. They're minting money from the fees, however, students are not getting adequately placed/compensated in jobs. IITs are generally having good staff, infrastructure, funding and faculty... They're the sharpest of the young people, and a lot of them go abroad for jobs anyway. The tier-2 & tier-3 guys need jobs within India!

it looks like a cycle, a periodic pattern, 10 years back, in December 2013, the placements were two bad, nearly ~50% of electrical dept. students were not placed in phase-1 of placement drive.

There was a time IT companies used hire by asking questions what is the difference between calloc and malloc , Now they will ask a problem you have to solve it. So standard of interviews and supply chain has been changed.

Engineering sector has always suffered right from beginning when demand of engineers were high engineers were not available when jobs were not available too much engineers were available so ratio was upside down in both cases it also happened when govt allowed too many engg colleges to open that spoiled the whole career base and raised unemployment problem

I am dtu pass out and master from iit seats increasing is major issue demand is less as declining phase in international arena. ai chatgot deep learning hampering it industry IT. industries were offering high package. now they are hiring less people recruitment criteria is nowadays and quality students are declining in iit nit because of number seats. and non core branches have more severe condition.

Recession happens everywhere, whether it's IIT or 2,3rd tier college. The point is as Sir said demand is high and supply is low , Also in IIT Companies need Computer Engineers .

Thoda student ki quality ke baare me baat karna. They are coming to IIT for jobs. Woh milti nahi toh alag hi frustrated rehete hai. Additionally iitian aren't corporate ready. It takes time. They think saari mehnat toh ha gayi abhi toh Paisa hi milna chahiye.

He is beating about the bush. The question was why even IIT graduates are not getting jobs? He says the supply of engineering graduates is more than the demand. Means he has included engineers from B grade colleges also while giving statement on supply of engineers. 😢

I think may be there is following possible reasons 1. IIT Students not able to compete with non IIT students 2. Institute or students fail give priority to build require competency and skills. 3. Student after pass-out from IIT expecting very high salary in first year. Other hand non IIT talents ready to do job at low salary. 4. In early 90s people used to say due to usage of Computer 🖥️ or IT system lots of job will erase, but things happen exactly reverse there is lot of new jobs created due to usage of computer and IT services. So, please do not worry for 38% students if they improve require skills they will get what they want.

IIT students not able to compete with iit students lol🤣. Bro they cleared hardest exam and surpassed those non iitians so more intelligence. In iit marking is done fairly without cheating which is normal in lower tier colleges to get grades. If iitians can’t compete then htf most of company founders are IITians😂.

Sidha sawal agar aap sarkar se puchoge to vo koi jawab nahi depayenge 1. Agar palcement nahi hai job nahi hai to itne mehenge course kyu chala rahe ho fees kyu le rahe ho 2. Agar education ka level industry ke hisab se nahi hai to course purane dharre par kyu chal rahe hai factory mai maal ki tarah degree kyu baat rahe hai. 3. Agar indian youth industry ke hisab se nahi hai to usko train karne aur industry ke according courses design kaun karega. 4. Har cheez aam aadmi par aap kyu daal rahe hai jab aap koi accha system hi nahi bana pa rahe hai.

Ai will start boosting robotics so labour class will be unemployed. While at the same time office jobs , software jobs will also goes away as AI will start making own apps softwares without himan intervention, or do accounting stock market trading etc etc etc. so very grim situation.

If you are getting degree that doesn't mean that you have knowledge. Yes ,most of students in colleges are studying exam oriented. They will not have simple basic knowledge. Than they will shout that they are not getting jobs. First be innovative, creative and skilled person. Than jobs will come to you. You will not have to find job. In an overpopulation country, skilled, innovative, creative mindsets students youth will only get jobs. Also AI is more powerful than highly skilled humans. So you cannot tackle AI by only exam oriented studies in future
