The blessing/curse of this podcast is that it's so engaging and nuanced that I have to only listen when I can completely devote my full attention to it. Like, I'm writing this comment during an ad break so I don't miss something funny or insightful. Like, I can do cardio, laundry, dishes, maybe cook something really simple.

Great episode! Hasan was a perfect guest for a podcast like this. Based on his appearance on this and Armchair Expert with Dax Shepard it seems he doesn't mind being vulnerable and pointing out his flaws and is also open to learning from others how to sort things out. Overall a relatable and insightful episode (as usual). Thanks, Neal and Hasan for doing this. 🙌

i’ve been tested for ADHD twice by actual psychologists for experiencing the exact things hasan was mentioning. Once at UCLA which was a specific test for ADHD and another time just by talking to a psychologist who was asking specific behavioral questions. What i learned was there’s a lot of other things that share the same symptoms of ADHD, in my case it was depression and trauma

ADHD and Procrastination overlap a bit with Executive Dysfunction (or Executive Functioning Disorder). Executive functioning helps you self-manage tasks. There are a lot of things under the Neurodiversity Umbrella: ASD, ADHD, OCD, SPD, social anxiety/GAD, dyslexia, Tourette syndrome, Dyspraxia, etc. Many of them have overlapping symptoms.

No one who actually *has* autism or ADHD or any neurodivergent trait, i believe, actually wants it. But it’s important, as there is more information out there and as we might relate to it, to learn how to live and cope and exist in a neurotypical world. It’s actually pretty dangerous to shame people into thinking they don’t actually feel a certain way.

True, the jokes are what you can recall, therefore "matter," but thats like saying wine labels & bottles don't matter, just the wine itself: science has proved this to be the total opposite. Not to say if your wine is garbage the label will make it better, but without intent in the other departments you might underserve the wine for what it is.
