I get asked a lot if I had some sort of NDE (near-death experience) when I suffered an internal decapitation and then a brain herniation two weeks later, so this video is specifically about that part of my story.
Due to so many people sharing their stories and looking for community, I have launched the LTM Network on facebook! If you would like to connect with other people looking for encouragement/support or just want to share your story: / ltmnetwork

Dear Christy, You are here because you are supposed to be! You are teaching so many people! I don’t think you had a NDE because you were not going anywhere! You still have people to help! Keep writing that book! I will be happy to purchase it and read it! There are so many out there you are helping!

This helped me tremendously, because I’m not religious either, and I’m getting on in years, and to think I could just sort of go to sleep is very comforting to me. Thank you for this video, Christy.

I really appreciate your story and that you've shared this. I appreciate it, and I appreciate you. I don't believe there is anything after now, and I'm glad to know that, for you, there was no pain, no anxiety. I'm SO glad that you're still here to do the best you can with the time you DO have here, the only Now that matters. My favorite description of the value and paradox of a non-religious life (in terms of consequences after this life not existing) is that if nothing we do matters, the the ONLY thing that matters is what we do. What you do matters. Thank you for using your voice and speaking your truth and experience. It is a great gift you're sharing with us all.

YES! I think taking the uncertainty of an afterlife out of the equation allows people to think more critically and have a better understanding of hard situations vs trying to rationalize why a god would allow 'his children' to suffer through various things.

It is a medical miracle that you're alive but I think you should give yourself alot of credit for fighting to live, especially when you couldn't communicate about the severe headache and being conscious during surgery I'm so grateful you moved your finger. You are a blessing to all that know you ❤❤

It's actually quite comforting to know that while our bodies might react to the distress of dying, our brains are able to protect us from the trauma, or at least a good chunk of it. I think one of the things that scares me the most about death is its potential to be scary and painful, so your experiences relieve some of my anxiety. Thank you for that, I really appreciate it. Please don't stop sharing, I think you're a really kind and compassionate person, and I really like who you are. I'm glad that I get to be here with you

I know 'The Good Doctor' used your story, but your story could easily be made into a movie. From your career as a paramedic, then, turned patient, and the long arduous journey back to health. I wonder how you could submit your story to networks. It would certainly help financially while you're still dealing with SSDI. Check into it! I survived a tornado in 1997, ranch-sitting in a mobile home for a friend's ranch. The home, myself, and my little dog went UP, over the trees, flipped, and crashed back down, before rolling until it looked like a warzone of rubble. It was the weirdest feeling floating and air being sucked out of my lungs. I was 3" from being crushed by the home. I had a wall on top of me, slumped on top of the 'roof' (the roof became the floor). Definitely had injuries, the only one injured out of 6 homes destroyed. It sure aged me. I was 26 when it happened, and I'm now 53. It caught up with me big time. You won't ever catch me in another mobile home now. Lol

Did the severe headache for a week not make the doctors/nurses think that the pressure in your head was increasing? It seems like after an internal decapitation, they would be on high alert for that... I was in the same hospital after a 25-foot fall where I broke my hip, femur, knee, and tibial plateau and I had a subdural hematoma that wasn't discovered until 3 days after the accident and subsequent surgery. I was extremely lethargic and drowsy, hard to arouse and that's what clued them in that something was wrong. They had taken away all my pain meds because they thought that was what was causing my drowsiness...turned out they were wrong. I'm not complaining about the hospital or the staff because they definitely saved my life, and I am so grateful. I just wonder how they miss these things sometimes.

😢Hey there Christy, I think the thing that stood out to me the most was, of course the unbelievable fact that you lived through such horrific trauma to your body and brain. But beside that I thought always what you said you have thought about. If a person is Hindu and they're going to have a near-death experience the kind where they see some form of a God or Spirit , I do not think they're going to see Jesus. However, there's a channel on KZfaq only about near death experiences. He just interviews one person every video and what they had happen to them. And the only thing that challenged my belief which is the same as yours, which is whatever you believe in is what you're going to see. HOWEVER, when I've watched this channel there have been many many many atheists that said they did see a Christ like being. Or they had some spiritual encounter that changed them when they came back to life That's interesting to me. And I have been forced to open up my mind because of these people that believed in nothing what happened to them.l I love that you expressed You had no pain when you were dead and although you saw nothing it was a very peaceful type of experience. I'm terrified of death I don't know why. I just am very scared. I think I'm just afraid of the unknown. What helped me the most Christy is what you said at the end. All these things that we are concerned with are really trivialities when we get down to it. People tend to worry thinking they're solving something if they worry about it and stay concerned about it. That means they're trying to solve something. BUT I have learned no worrying or trying hard to figure things out or trying to control an outcome, has only caused me more stress That's is it. It has solved nothing. If I had just let go and just took the next step things would have unfolded as they will.I want to thank you for reminding me about that because right now I'm in a big crisis I lost my motorhome that I lived in and things are now not very good my health is very painful everyday and I suffer from severe depression. So thank you for the reminder at the end it was really good and helpful. Thank you I don't think you're weird for what you did and I I mean for making the video. and I sure hope people don't come in and I know they will because that's what Christians tend to always do is put their agenda on other people and tell other people that if they don't believe like they do you're going to you know where. I hope not one comment comes to you like that.b because that's sickens me it really does. Evangelizing anybody to me is not a pretty look. It repels people it does not invite people. Much love to you Christy and your husband and Bailey your bird and everything that's important to you. ❤❤

This is ironic this video is today. We had a very close encounter with a tornado last night which would've almost certainly ended up with me dying because of what kind of house I'm in and the fact I cannot shelter how you're supposed to due to being full time in a wheelchair plus I was asleep

While it was hard to hear you didn't see anything because I've been struggling with my faith, I am not judging you or condemning you for your beliefs. I was an RN in Calhoun County and you look so familiar to me lol!!!! Wondered if you brought folks to my ER LOL. Anyway love your videos and you are here for a reason and a very important one. When I almost died, I was pissed I didn't have a NDE, but then I realized I had a huge one. It was one big hallucination and it took me months to figure out what was real and what I hallucinated. One of the things I hallucinated was having the idea to create an athlete's foot treatment by mixing urine with citrus essential oil and in my hallucination, I was peeing in buckets all over my room and mixing it with the essential oi. I thought I had a bunch of buckets of pee, when I reality, I had been lying on the floor for 3 days.... then in the ambulance when I was being transferred to Boston, I remember "dying" and it was just black. I remember thinking that it felt like being locked in a dark closet or put in a dresser drawer. I have never had confirmation that I "died" on the way to the hospital because I haven't been able to get my hands on the ambulance record.
