I lived in NY near Niagara Falls for years, growing zone 6. Seems like Germany zone would be approximately the same, but they grow more interesting vegetation there. Hopefully your KZfaq income helps you at least buy the occasional piece of fruit.. it would be nice if it paid for a trip once in a while. First thing I always do is hit the thumbs up button. Good video, stay safe and don't go exploring fruit trees in Ukraine or Israel! God bless you and your channel

We have a select black walnut and the nut is 3x that size. Once aged, they become very mild in flavor, losing alot of the jugulone. I believe that is what happens, fact check me if I'm wrong.

Great. I doubt selected cultivars are available in Germany

@@allthefruit not sure, I have seen some pretty nice temperate fruits in the groups on Facebook. Would love to have that giant Carpathian Walnut.

There are giant varieties of both in the west. Or are yours even bigger? With big walnuts mold is an issue

Fagus sylvatica doesn't get so old? At Türkenschanzpark in Vienna, we got 2 planted next to eachother which should be older than those. Can't remember good enough to know how girthy they are

If i remember right they rarely get over 300 years. Much less than oaks or lindens

Did something interesting happen with the Gymnocladus dioicus?
