Where the Ashlad would also dare a huge troll who's head was full of moss to a eating contest and also use a bag to stuff meat, and thus also cut his "stomach" (the bag) open in order to trick the troll into killing himself. This is actually just a rewrite of a classic Nordic fable about a boy who gets sent out to kill a troll. He goes through different challenges and it ends with an eating contest where he places his backpack in front to eat more and then he cuts his “stomach” open in the same way trundle does. It’s comparable to the story David and Goliath, but with human ingenuity instead of the powder of god.

for those who don't know the story is very very similar from a Skandinavian story about atleast here in Norway is the story of Askeladen and the troll which the story more or less goes the same way with the troll being tricked by the boy using a knife to cut his bag and then dies trying to do the same with his belly i see it as they have gotten more inspiration from skandinavia which so so cool to me honestly and makes me love trundle even more

Im Norwegian and that eating contest is inspired by Norwegian folklore about a boy who had a eating contest with a troll but the boy tricked the troll by putting his backpack on his stomach and cutting it open and telling the the troll to cut his stomach too but the troll asked if it hurt and the boy told him that it didnt hurt and the troll did it and he died and the boy tok home all the trolls tressure the end. PS: there is some build up too but im too lazy to type that much
