It's no wonder they told you to buy a new head!! Shark obviously DOES NOT intend for product owners to change those belts. It's a bad engineering design for that reason. A real good reason not to buy because we both KNOW that most owners are not capable of following your detailed instructions. You did a terrific job with talking us through it and providing close ups. I don't own that model but your tutorial is all I need to help me tear down my HV381C head to do belts. Thank you!

Thank you so much….. I was able to see how to take apart my vacuum head and replace the nozzle connection. $17 on eBay for the part, and you (through this video) showed how to disassemble so I could repair. Thank you again good sir!

Shark Duo Clean IF252 31 Brushes are not moving. Belts are OK. Suspect the micro switch. Need video on how to get the cover off to get to the micro switch which turns on the brushes when the handle is not upright. Have the sides off just can't figure how to get the center cover off. Appreciate your help.

What kind of plastic do you think the upper cover of the vacuum head is made of? The plastic parts that secure the screws broke and I'm looking into the best adhesive to bond them back on. I'm thinking abs cement or acetone if it's abs but otherwise maybe an epoxy.

you can also try liquid fiberglass with hardener/ a strong Epoxy is fine

Thanks for the excellent video. Is there a place where I can get just the belt for the hv 392 26. I found the smaller belt for the first one you replaced but the larger one is stretched out and I’m trying just to replace it. Thank you for any help.

Thank you for a very detailed explanation on how to take apart the head. My front roller has stopped working and figure it would be a belt. Are the dual head belts the same from model to model? Having problems finding the one for my model. (ZU881). Thanks again.

Unfortunately the belt sizes and type may differ depending on the model

excellent I have a question I followed what you did excellent explanation but I found that the wheels what it holds the belt rusted what to do with it? And how to fix them? Thanks

I believe that there are clip/ washer that if removed will allow you to remove the gear. Then you can clean. if not try auto penetrate spray. Very good for death with rusted gears and bolts

My question is not in regard to your video. I need help troubleshooting a Shark Rotator NV750W series. The brush roller is not spinning nor is the light coming on. Also, the lights on the nozzle are blinking. I recently purchased a new head as well as a new hose and nozzle. It does the same thing. The old and new do the same thing, so what is the problem????

Hmm. I was going to mention the micro switch but you purchased another head and it’s doing the same thing. ( Is it a brand new head or used?) What are the chances the both have the same issue. If the head not the problem then you would have to work your way up. Eliminate the wand or the hose the main power switch until you find the disconnect. It’s a lot easier if you know of someone with the same unit. This way you can compare and see which part has no continuity. Lastly. It could be one of the circuit boards

Thanks , prising those last clips was the information I was looking for - what a crappy design. Definitely not intened to be taken apart by the owner. And so many slightly different designs. Mine was another with a slight difference, but the clips were the key thanks again.

No parts available is a big minus, also an opportunity for other oem companies to fill the void

My belt melted the plastic cover and was sticking out of the belt cover. Crazy that they don't sell individual parts knowing this was one of their best products at the time. Shouldn't have to pay for a whole new head. Anyone with half a brain should know how to take something apart and put it back together
