Her mic sensitivity was programmed too low, so her voice sounds too direct and isolated, so its throwing her off. You need some reverb or else your voice is puncturing through the song it sounds unnatural especially in a song thats low and quiet like "needed me." Reverb fixes the pitchiness.

This is one of my favorite performances. Even though she made some mistakes, it was fire. not everything needs to be perfect. The whole aesthetic and the transition between the songs was amazing and I love it.

I can understand some people commenting about her voice. Her voice was overused she did a dozen of shows during the amazing ANTI World Tour and Rih slayed giving it her all! Everything was perfect during that tour but especially the ballads. She sang LIVE and Rih picks the ballads that give you true emotions but those are harder to sing. Stay, Diamonds and Love on the Brain f.e. are very high pitched songs and not even Mariah or other big names can sing those high pitched songs night after night without it effecting their voice. It's impossible but if you were at ANTI then you know she gave us the best of the best!

Beyoncé and Mariah are known to be professional lip synchers. Beyoncé lipsynched for ages but because of that incident when people found out she's more cautious on when to lip sync and the songs on formation weren't as high pitched as the one Rih does. People have made comments about Rih's voice in the past because she sings live! There will always be live audio on almost all of her videos here on youtube taken by fans. I'd rather have a note that's not totally perfect then to watch someone do a karaoke on their own songs.

Even if you may dislike her, and i really didn't care for lemonade, but its obvious that even if it was not a stellar performance of an album, she has put in more work into her music than most artists today, and more than any other artist that was nominated

Everybody is making up excuses on why she didn't do good. I've seen people say "technical difficulties in the ear piece" to "she was tired". How can you be tired from performing for 5 minutes in sections and barely dancing and singing?! and she's been singing this song for months and she still doesn't know what the right notes are! another one I saw was that "she needs a break, she's on tour". okay but Beyoncé sang LIVE for 15 minutes WITH hardcore dancing and was just fine! she's also on tour so don't make excuses. just say it sucked and move on.
