My brother Queta88 is a pure defensive force! The Kings didn't have a system in which he could envolve and be more useful. He landed in the perfect spot, team and City! His blue collar ethics are greatly appreciated in Boston and he is patient and hard worker. I'm sure Al Horford's advices and tutoring will make him an even better player. But I see him climbing (continuing on this path) to starter status in a near future! GREAT support. Thanks for this! He really can become an all around menace!💪

I've been talking bout Queta long long time, since the lack of time he had on Sacramento, and after that people saying that Boston had no backup big if Al or KP get injured, i always comment on those videos "Keep down playing on Queta, keep sleeping on him". Guy had only NBA games with a positive +/- so far, he's a monster!

Good to know that someone keeps an eye out for intangibles. Queta can become a really good rotation piece! As long as he can keep getting regular minutes with some other quality players, he'll keep growing for sure. I hope the C's sign him for a standard contract!

Queta thundering to the basket was one of my favorite moments of the season, honestly - dude has put in crazy effort, every chance he gets. He plays smart, he outworks every matchup, just an incredibly easy dude to root for. Honestly, the first, like, three minutes I saw him play, I was like 'oh damn, there's something there.' - but I think his ceiling is a fair bit higher than I imagined at first. He's got the core skills and measurables to stick in the league, and that means time to expand his game. And it's clear he works his ass off. Been really exciting to watch him coming on. Great video, really breaking down the hustle that makes this dude so intriguing.

He needs to start playing over Kornet, Queta is just a better player. He’s more mobile, more athletic, more active on the boards, always aggressive. Those are all traits that you want in your big guy. Not saying Kornet is a bad player, but in the minutes that Queta has gotten, he’s been way more impactful, and that 10pt 10reb game against GSW should guarantee him playing time going forward.
@cvgodd14327 ай бұрын
Facts Kornet does his job but the better fit is Queta. I say we keep both just in case. A lot of teams need big men and we got 3 7 footers! If he can avg 10 and 10 maybe some blocks/assists. He will be fine and he will get PAID. I was actually born about 30 mins from his home town in Portugal. My uncle knows his family lol. He said his family never has to take the bus again, he used to see them on the bus going to work all the time.

YES PREACH! I'm not one of those people that keep up with players outside of the Celtics let alone non-NBA players, but since the first preseason game I've been on the Queta hype train. This guy is amazing and I'm hella happy he's on the team with Rob gone. Love Al of course, but Queta definitely fills the "Rob Williams replacement spot" more than Al does. Also as someone who likes basketball but never seriously played, I Love seeing a video that explains what exactly makes Queta good (step up screens) so that I can get it myself 😂 The soccer-basketball connection is very interesting.

The good thing about this is that Neemi will have to have a NBA spot somewhere even if Celtics don't wanna keep him. He could be the bench center from Lakers for e.g. and would be 100x better than Jaxon Hayes.

At 3:29 we can see Tatum doesn't trust Neemias rolling. He could pass the ball and Queta would have a completely empty lane in front of him for a dunk. Maybe Tatum realized the missed opportunity and made the pass at 4:51. Queta makes an impact every time he's near the ball. It's amazing.
@niknba7 ай бұрын
Yea people have been noticing that from Tatum and I think Neemy putting the ball on the floor and driving for a bucket helps with that. His teammates see he can do something with it off the bounce so maybe that makes them trust him a little bit more

He's not really a great screener yet, most of his fouls are on screens, but the GSW game showed he's getting noticeably better at them. They need to keep giving him minutes so he can keep improving. Unlike Kornet he can actually help in the playoffs.

I think Queta is one of those guys that stats are not his play, if he can get better at shooting (i think that will get a LOT better with play time) he can be a really good player, there are some details that he can improve, but then again, he can just improve those aspects through playing time. And i know you probably won't get this analogy but there is a football (soccer) player called sergio buskets and someone said that is playing style is like "You watch the game you won't see buskets, but if you watch buskets you'll se the whole game", i think that's what Queta's playing style kinda is about because he tries to get a lot of screens for the team so they can get space to do the play they want. And one more thing, the game before this one, Queta played a little (don't know if you made a video or not about it, but im going to say it anyway), and in the 4th quarter there was a situation where Horford add a lot of space in the cornor to shoot a 3 pointer and there was someone on the opposing time running to Horford from the rim, but Queta made a screen so that Horford could breath and make the 3 pointer with no pressure. For me that's a great teamplay from Queta
@niknba7 ай бұрын
Great comment. And I didn’t do a video on that game but I posted that clip on Twitter. That screen was really important and allowed Al to get that shot off. He’s honestly probably one of the best screeners already. Think he can become a regular rotation guy if he keeps the play up
@danielcarneiro83127 ай бұрын
@@niknba agree with that, he can be someone that can come off the bench a make the difference, something strong teams need, and that can make the Celtics more dangerous than they already are
As a portuguese myself I love to see the rise of Queta, what do you think are Queta's weaknesses that he can work on?

Defensive positioning and definitely finishing at the rim. Finishing hasn’t been a huge problem yet bc he usually gets his own rebounds but he misses a lot inside

Queta is not as dynamic or as explosive as Rob, cant guard the perimeter the way Rob did BUT… he’s thicker & sturdier than Rob, has softer hands & has some semblance of basket awareness & touch around the rim. compared to the great centers of the 80s & 90s of course Queta isnt a GREAT post player, but considering 90% of today’s bigs play faceup ball Neemias is more than adequate down low. if Rob wasnt dunking he wasnt scoring… Queta has footwork & touch at the rim while still providing that vertical lob threat. Kornet is ok in certain circumstances but Queta gotta be the 3rd big in rotation behind KP & Al.
@staticcharm38087 ай бұрын
Queta is also 7’0 while Rob is 6’8”. Rob could never guard bigger centers. And now his leaping ability is probably gone anyway with his knees.
@niknba7 ай бұрын
Rob at the peak of his power was a special one of a kind athlete and defender. Impossible for Queta to replicate that. But yes his bigger frame allows him to do what he does well. He can also guard the perimeter just not as good as Rob used to.
