Bought 'em. Love 'em. I'm a professional actor who often needs to make my own headshots specific for a casting notice, and I also like to make my own videos and need to do video auditions. This is absolutely the best bang for your buck. Especially since the come with accessories which can be used many ways, and they work on USB, they're great for both home studio and on the go. This is absolutely the best review, not too technical, but technical enough for us pros and geeks. When you turn them on, they're at medium brightness for the light. Using my iPad as a camera, or even my Canon DSLR, I typically turn the lights all the way down while they are about a yard/meter in front of me. There is plenty of capacity for moving them back or forward to get the right amount of distance. On the stands, sitting on a folding chair I bought at Costco, without the additional ball mounts, I'm 5'9" / 175cm and they're about at the level of my chin, so they eliminate shadows effectively without looking like I'm in a spotlight, the only thing lit in the scene. Lighting for film, television, video, or photography can be very complex. This is as simple as it gets.

Great review. Seems like all the other reviewers are using AUTO mode on their cameras so when they turn on and off the lights you cant barely see any difference lol As a photography student i really appreciate the manual mode examples.

Cheers for the review, as you said they are cheap and the build quality may not be great, but form filling in light they seem ideal and for someone who don't want to spend a fortune. I am going to order some.

Great review I wondered how they will do in a dark room. Ordered to use with my Jackery power station for power outages. Should be good to adjust pointing up to the ceiling and getting ceiling bounce and even room lighting with low power draw.
