Unfortunately, no. I have the Canon T6i and 80D. BOTH turn off the LCD when an external monitor is attached.

My image on the screen is only filling a portion of the screen how do I make it fill the screen.

Hi. You're absolutely right. When the video was requested I didn't get many asking for me to go over the menus. In hindsight I should have regardless. Thank you for pointing that out. Maybe I'll revisit the monitor and make a subsequent video addressing the menu. Thanks again.

If it's a Canon, disable the wifi/nfc function.

I'm having a problem with the small screw that attaches the HDMI Cable to the back of the screen. It does not tighten up as it's supposed to. I placed the spacer as you recommended, and the thread do not align correctly!!! Use my email address that associated with my account to contact me please 🙏!!!
