Carl’s death was the one that ticked me off. It was heartbreaking for Glenn and when Carl died it was the point in the show where my favorite character died. I started watching with family and they got annoyed so I started and continued watching by myself. I stay cuz of Judith and (now Maggie) but Carl was the future of the show (he was the future in the comics too!!) and they made a BIG MISTAKE 😭 rip

I actually respect Negan in this scene, he could’ve laughed or did something evil, especially when Rick said imma kill you, Negan’s response was “how did it happen”. Negan is a lot of things but he did admire Carl, & he would’ve kill someone in his group if he found out it was one of them.

I’ll be honest, I like what they did with Carls death. It showed us a whole new rick. What I didn’t like thought was that less than a season later rick is off the show.. making Carl’s death and essentially his whole character useless in the scope of the whole show

This might’ve been the last episode I watched. Idk anybody personally that still watches the show that used to watch it either. Once they kill most of the characters you cared for, you can’t continue caring for the show anymore. Also, it’s not about the zombies and their mysterious origin anymore. It’s just about groups fighting against other groups.

One of the rare best moments in a dying TV show. If it were more like this throughout, more people would be tuning in!

Carl is Negan favorite from the beginning. He was the boy who got the ball to defend his dad on Rick Gang Slaughtered episode

I think Negan really cared about Carl on some level. He did use to work with kids, right? And I could see the guilt when he asked if it was the saviors who killed him.

You can actually tell Negan really cared about Carl. Feels even like if Negan felt it more than rick. Negan loved Carl. Even when Carl told him to stop when Carl was on top of the sanctuary that he wouldn’t mind dying to save everyone, Negan wanted to cry.

Right here when Rick was talking about how it doesn’t matter it gave me flashbacks to the Governor when he was outside the prison.

Just my thoughts that I had after watching this episode: We don't know what goes on through Negan's head. We don't know what goes on through Rick's head. Both of them are rash and make decisions we don't always see coming or understand. But we do know that Negan genuinely like Carl. He did. And it makes me wonder, after seeing him initially react to the news, and before Rick says it doesn't matter and he wants to kill him, if Negan would have agreed and said "okay lets talk." I can't help but think that Rick's decision to stay hostile caused the rest of the conversation and the inevitable continuation of this 'war.' Not to say the Negan is suddenly on board for peace, but it just looked like he was truly thinking of Carl and his request.

Hell yeah love this show can't get enough

Negan is one of the most well written villains let alone characters in the history of tv shows and I genuinely mean it. He is constantly making us question if we should like him or not, constantly doing things to make us hate him then turning us back around on it. We really can't tell if he's truly an awful person, insane, or what. He is a brutal killer but he also has empathy and believes in a world with a system of rules. He has a heart. He seriously respects Rick even though he's his enemy, and had a great respect for Carl. He felt bad for Rick too, he really did. We know we should hate him but he's do damn charismatic and he has actual feelings. This is thanks to the writers and Jeffrey Dean Morgan I'm sure, it's just so perfectly done and acted. He is incredibly complex, and the fact that he reacted this way to Carl makes me so much more interested in him.

i mean the comic book series does have negan being caputured by rick and i think carl's letters weighs a lot on ricks decision to spare negan's life in the end. then again the show doesn't always follow the comic book series either.

I feel like Negan was really being sincere when Carl died. I don’t think Rick should of been so aggressive towards Negan when Negan was apologetic. I understand that Negan had killed Abraham and Glenn, Spencer, Olivia, but in my opinion, Negan did have a good reason to kill them. But still, I think Rick should of listen to Carl and granted his wish, and stopped the war.

I find it funny how Negan feels bad yet at the end of season 7 he tried to bash Carl’s face with his bat.

for me in particular, Carl represented our view throughout history, he was the viewer accompanying from the beginning the unfolding of this world being destroyed and becoming the new world we know in the series.

This right here is why I love negan. You can argue that he is a psychopath like the governor but in reality, negan is caring and compassionate and looks out for his people.
