NEIGHBOR "KAREN" CONFRONTS ME While Mowing An Overgrown Lawn For A DISABLED WOMAN

While mowing this overgrown lawn for a disabled woman, one of the neighbors confronts me and thought I wasn't doing a good job. I got done doing the first mow and she thought I was putting my equipment up and leaving. She said the homeowner wouldn't be happy paying me with the job I did. I explained to her that I wasn't finished. She kept on saying I missed some spots mowing and I didn't even trim. I explained again that I would be working on this property for awhile and she was more than welcome to judge my work when I was actually done. Her tone changed the more work I did. I actually like that she was looking after her neighbor. Everything ended very well.

I'm sorry you had to go through that, I understand seeing if you had permission perhaps to be on property (if) she was asked to keep eye out on property, but calling you out when your not finished was uncalled for, lets be honest maybe she should've called homeowners first to verify, and kept her 👃 to herself !! Glad she got over herself, and it ended well.. Hope you and the family had a great Labor Day weekend and thank you for sharing 🌴🍊🐊

Not sure about anyone else but I don't buy the concerned neighbor bit. If she was so worried about the neighbor, how did the yard get to be so overgrown? If she were so "concerned" she should have pulled her mower out and done it herself. BTW, I'm an older woman and I have 2 push mowers so there's no excuse. I push mowed my 1 acre yard this morning. She probably just wanted to know how much he was being paid. My sister has someone professionally landscape her yard and she has that one neighbor always coming over to critique his work and asking all kinds of questions about what she's having done and how much he charges. Sheesh!

At the very least SHE could have reached out to someone on her neighbor's behalf.... since she cares SOOOOO much! If people aren't going to actually do something helpful they should at least mind their own business when someone is helping, paid or not. She doesn't care about the neighbor whose lawn it is, she just wanted to be critical, while she sits there doing nothing, and having done nothing, to help the situation.

Regarding the comment: "1000 fold return to the man that helped the elderly (disabled) person." Unfortunately, many times the saying: 'No good deed goes unpunished' becomes true. Cutting overgrown grass in unknown yards, can lead to striking hazards unseen and unknown to the mower operator. Things like rocks, blocks, dog cables, stumps, rods, debris and trash etc., that can become projectiles or harm or severely damage a mower ( cracked/broken spindles, bent decks, personal or property liability issues). Being a good guy can sometime cost you plenty.

The way he reacted to “Karen” speaks to his character. He didn’t get in a confrontational yelling match with her which is what she was looking for. Instead, he killed her with kindness and rationale behavior. Ultimately she had to eat her words. Had he become confrontational with her, it would not have mattered how good a job he did. She would attributed it to her “keeping him in check” and then patted herself on the back accordingly. Some people are very adept at telling others what they should be doing but not holding themselves to the same standard.

@j scott Did it ever occur to you that kindness & patience goes a lot further than being rude & dismissive? The guy said it himself in the video that she became friendlier & nicer as the day went on, she even offered him water at some point. If he'd been rude right back it probably would've resulted in an argument & nothing would've gotten done. This world needs more kindness & patience like he showed her.

I really like the way you kept things calm and level. Many people love to annoy the Karens, but it seems you took a nice, level headed approached and maybe convinced her to get a little bit better of a person. It was also nice that she was concerned about the neighbor and the job you did. I love that you offered her to come back when you were actually done to make sure it would pass inspection by the homeowners.

After watching this, and several others like minded as you, I feel like a complete ass. I spent the better part of 20 years doing landscaping work just like this for paying customers. NOT ONCE did it ever occur to me to offer my services to someone, who NEEDED it, at no cost to them. You guys rock!

That’s ok You may have helped another at some point, perhaps without knowing. We’ve all received help from those we cannot repay, and hopefully just paid it forward Helping another without expectation But if you’re still able to do landscaping of some sort, it’s never too late. I’m disabled, and my fathers neighbors yard was overgrown, the others complained about it. She was elderly but her son never helped. So I offered my dads landscaper extra payment while he was here, to run a quick mow over her lawn. He couldn’t schedule a complete overhaul. But it was well cut. And he wouldn’t take my extra payment. So I just threw an extra tip in It’s nice you recognized that you may have not thought to help another with landscaping, as this guy did. But you’ve done something at sometime, I’m sure ❤️

The mere fact that you feel like an ass proves that you're not. A complete ass wouldn't even care enough to reflect upon what they may or may not have been able to do for someone else. I'm sure you've helped people in other ways in life. Sometimes just being nice, having a kind word, a smile, listening for a few minutes can change someone's day. But if watching these vids stirs something in you, I'm sure you'll find a way to help someone, in some way, who perhaps can't help themselves.
