You did nothing wrong. I would have gone straight to the police station and reported conversation...he seems to have something to hide and bears watching.

The City should be responsible for this kind of maintenance using property taxes as the source, then billing developers who may come along and buy the property at a later date...just keep it simple and low cost but neat and tidy.

Dear hardworking Sir , definitely I would not talk to you like that, BUT in case you would come to my lawn ( meadow😅) and mow it down to the naked earth, I would at least be very ... disappointed !! In these days ,where bees, butterflies and other insects are having such a hard time to survive,I said good bye to the idea of a short lawn.Instead I welcome each and every wild 'flower',which you perhaps will call a weed. No bees ... no honey. No insects... no harvest No butterflies ... no joy. No insects ... no birds. Less wild flowers ...less insects ...and so on and on. May be that guy came from the 'same green corner', but obviously didn't express himself properly. German biologist granny speaking.😅

Unfortunately (if he it hasn't already happened), the city will cite him a WHOLE bunch of tickets for that lot.

I would have called the police. His behaviour was threatening. Main question is does he own the vacant lot or not. If he doesnt, he has no authority to stop you.

If indeed it was his house, you should’ve asked before just mowing and cleaning. Although it is kind to serve others, it’s his home…

My toes curled right at the start of the video when you strimmed right to the bottom of the tree. You will ring the bark and kill the roots resulting in a dead tree. Please keep strimmers away from tree trunks if you want them to survive. Total rookie/ignorant move.

It's hard to say what the right answer is, but I think you did fine. Personally, just what I saw, I would've done the same thing with two exceptions. I would've stopped talking the moment I decided to leave, and not aloud anymore interaction between him and myself, driven around the street and called the police. Let them know what happened and ask them to let me blow off the street and side walks. Those are public areas, thus a public safety concern that I caused, and I couldn't leave them like that no matter the condition they were in when I started. If he came back, let them handle him while you finished and bugged out. If he does have a dangerous problem, it would be good for them to know about it for everyone's safety. Just my opinion. You did what was right for you. Keep up the good work.

I thank God he didn’t come out with a weapon. People with mental illness cannot be reasoned with not even with kindness. It looked like a vacant lot from what we could tell. However, owner or not he must have in his mind been protecting it. I certainly would not want to be one of his family members. Just have to wonder what kind of hellish life he is living in his mind. I’m so sorry this happened to you. God Bless you and keep you safe.
