Led by Bob Diamond, who re-discovered the tunnel back in 1981, tour groups learn the history of the world's oldest subway rail (built in 1844). Take a trip down a man hole to get a glimpse of Brooklyn's hidden history.

I served 22 years at the LIRR. It's amazing, Me. Diamond, found out about the old tunnel. I have something to add. East New York tunnel, has an old steam engine that was abandoned . The tunnel was a connection to the Far Rockaway branch. I never verified this. I was told about it. The area is sealed off. My understanding is that steam locomotives were abondened after they expired.

It's kind of sad officials killed off the tour but also perfectly understandable. Bob died 2021 at 61. Hope he had a chance to return there for a als goodbye
