I'm constantly surprised and amazed by how Neil can find two completely unrelated songs and fit them together so perfectly. The guy's a musical and comedic genius.

I had no clue that Neil made Ultimate Showdown, Two Trucks, Annoyed Grunt, and Bustin'. Its actually insane of this dude's reach on the internet and his musical prowess.

I never heard One Week before this album, so when I searched the original song after listening to Mouth Moods, I almost had a heart attack because it's so goddam different. In fact, the heavy breathing at the beggining of the song was me when I listened the original One Week.

You know looking back a few years later I think that this was the song that made me realize that he makes these mashups not only just to be funny, but also because he genuinely loves music

I like to imagine the start of the song as taking place in a dark, snowy forest in Ontario, where you're hiding behind a large maple tree. As the patriotic tune grows in volume, you hear footsteps crunching in the snow somewhere nearby. Your heart feels like it's going to beat out of your chest, and you struggle to control your breathing in your panic. Suddenly, you see him coming towards you, wielding an axe that's dripping blood into the pure white snow. It's Ed Robertson, the lead singer of the hit rock band "Barenaked Ladies." This song is a shining example of Neil's genius. Just from the title and the intro, you would immediately think that he's about to mix "Smooth Criminal" with "Smooth", and are left wondering why you just heard a fragment of "O Canada"... and then "One Week" kicks in, completely subverting your expectations. You know you're in for a hell of a ride. And then right near the end, when you've resigned yourself to this fate, "Smooth" finally shows up and your brain explodes.

I love how in these mashups there's hardly any silence, so my ears are constantly being violated

Every time I listen to this song when Rob Thomas kicks in just when you almost lose hope that "Smooth" is gonna be part of this mashup I picture that scene in "The Two Towers" when Gandalf arrives at Helm's Deep, but it's just Rob, all in white riding a horse into the stage where the Barenaked Ladies are performing ready to save the day.
