In 1977 summer I was 17 and had an itchy crush on a german girl visiting her sailor uncle at his summer residence in Finland, with her family. She was of the same age but cannot recall her name anymore. She played me Neil's American Stars' n Bars and back then I learnt to know his great music. She didn't response to my letters coming from far north but Neil' music did as still does.

Neil and the Horse - the way it should be. He played with a lot of good groups in his time but his best performances are with the Horse. Edit: how does he get such amazing tone on an acoustic?? Usually it's with an electric, which is remarkable on its own... either way. What a legend.

I am always gratified to read about how so many listeners describe their intense feelings and personal memories of Neil. I see myself in all of them. We are all so lucky, aren’t we, to have so much of our souls wrapped up inside Neil’s endless horizon. How does he do it? Still, after decades, he remains in his output mode, ever-creating, ever-performing. There is nothing to do, but watch Ol’ Black rock back and forth, swing up and down, and behold in gratitude creation taking shape through the filter of Neil Young. This is certainly my own corner of heaven on earth . . . yet look . . . there are tens of thousands of you here with me. Keep on keeping on Neil!!!!

I've realized that I have to have time to be creative in one way or another, I think most of us do have activities we once enjoyed immensely that we should get ourselves back to in whatever way that needs to be reworked if it's been a long time. We all have something to offer to the world in whatever small way it may seem. Just talking to you on here is one of those little things I enjoy in life. I hope things are going well with you.

I'm two years behind Neil, and the Crazy Horse boys. Decades of Neil's songs, his talent to write all of those meaningful songs, each one a story. The world one artist at a time we are loosing. Leonard Cohen, passed away last fall, what a singer songwriter he was, and a Canadian, I love his songs. Guys like Neil, Dylan, The Stones, The Band Etc... will never be replaced by anyone. Just like our time in the 60's can never be replaced, we are all connected to that era, it was ours. ☮️

I absolutely agree. This is one of his really great songs, musically and lyrically, as you said, "a masterpiece". I had the great pleasure of seeing NY & the Horse on the Psychedelic Pill tour, but had only heard Americana, which came with my concert tickets. Based on that, I wasn't expecting too much, but what I got was one of the things closest to a religious experience I have ever had. And Ramada Inn was one of the biggest parts of it. A magnificent song, making (what I presume to be) the personal universal. (With a bloody haunting refrain.) Sorry. I'll shut up now.
