When Neil Young toured down under in 1985, he sat down with the press and was engaging, courteous and humble. Courtesy of the Mike Squire Archives comes this amazing interview with one of the greatest musical talents to emerge from the mid-60's and define a generation with brilliant uncompromising acoustic songs and electric rock, here's an artist of substance and calibre like no other.

I was at Festival Hall 1985. The Harvesters played for 3 hours, great concert.

Neil Young's music provided the best music years of my life from about1979-1995. 16 years of age to 36 years of age, the best times of my life. Rock and Roll will never die! Keep on rocking Neil. I'm 58 today and still love the originals.

lol "year of the horse" is the album that got me into NY, right where you stopped is where i began. but i wanted to say check out "psychedelic pill" if you haven't, "walk like a giant" feels like a bizarre fever-dream flash-foward scene from "Rust never sleeps". it's got that 70's bite to it, and the most self-indulgent ending since the "ragged glory" feedback outros. good shit in other words

I saw one of those concerts in Sydney in 1985. He was playing at the Entertainment Centre and it was a truly great show.

I can say this. I may disagree on some of Neil’s views but he is a phenomenal rock guitarist and his work with Crazy Horse is hard rock GOLD. If I hate someone for their politics I would be listening to Kid Rock or KISS.

He's the guy who's enjoyed an almost six decade long music career, and been at the forefront of American folk rock since before Joe Rogan was even born.
