Everytime you do a craft fair new things are learned. I use to have a check off list and had 3 tables in a U shape along with a banner so that my display would stand out. This was under a mobile tent top I had.

What can help as well is color coordinating, some people don't like to spend time looking through everything. But when u have the color they like, they seem to buy more then just one. Even if they are different prints but similar in color. They will be more like "oh I like this one and this one". 😁😁😁 It totally works. Just a little something we have learned, good job so happy for u guys 👍👍👍😁😁😁

Congratulations on your first outdoor market. Maybe you could also group your scrunchies by color ways instead of having them all mixed together.

This year we started putting PVC pipes on the table legs to raise the table and that helped out a lot. The product was up higher for the customer to see. We also always talk to the customers because almost all of them don't realize your pieces are handmade. We also learn something new each show and make a little change here and there. Also, checklists! Good luck on your next fair!

I got a lot of small cute stands from Ross. You might want to look there. I do levels so some higher than others to make your booth look interesting which draws people in. I have been doing craft shows and swapmeets for the past 20 years and it is fun especially when you start selling a lot. It just takes a few swapmeets because people come back and usually buy from the people that are always there.

You should bring samples of your embroidery work and take orders that way and you should make a flip book with pictures of your embroidery outfits and have people look through them. Time to learn to make tutus.

For some reason I have better luck selling in person then online. Looking forward to watching more market vlogs on your channel. Much love from Chicago.

Definitely need to have items displayed up higher like the other lady. If everything is down on your table and 2 or 3 people are standing in front of it, people will walk past your table because they can't see what you have.

Hey congrats on the vending booth. The first time is scary crazy but you become a pro very quickly. Carefully consider giving out food, even candy. It can become a liability especially if a child grabs a piece or is told no from a parent (spoils everyone mood 😞). Pro tip: max out your space. Stretch to every corner the organizers give you. Use tables, chairs, coat racks- anything that is sturdy and will display your goods but not interfere with customers being able to get to all the items. Add marketing schemes a little at a time so you will know what’s working. You got this!

It can be really soul destroying doing craft fairs, markets etc, if you make your table/stall charge back you've done ok! I have done 2 this year and am booked for mid December for my next one. The ones I do are inside a large store within a shopping centre/mall. One thing I know is I'm going to get to the December one early so I can get near to the door, that way I'm first for any customers. I find they've often bought similar items before they reach me if I'm near the middle or back. I do love it though, it's like playing shop for grown ups!!

Cute key fobs and scrunchies! Amazon has over the door hat hangers for ten dollars, i wonder how those would work to display those scrunchies? Customers could see all the scrunchies at once (rather than digging thru the basket) and the display would be so darn colorful n cute, who wouldnt buy some (lots of) scrunchies!?😊. (One of the hat hangers held 18 hats…scrunchies would look cute on that?)

My 8 year old daughter did her first vendor show last week and did amazing! But wondering if the flea Markets are going to be different and with a different crowd since I didn’t even know this town had one till I asked and her stuff is mostly aimed to younger generations! Also, there was a lady who had a bowl of free candy on her table and attracted all the kids and then the parents were occupied telling their kids no or only one piece and then the lady telling them it’s ok if they took more. I felt like it took the parents direction away from her items she was selling and the parents just trying to get the kids away so they don’t take a handful of candy!

@NeitaFajita
@NeitaFajita 2 жыл бұрын
I think only one of my jobs asked for transcripts but I think it was just to show proof that I had a degree/credentials for my teaching position. I think the only time my grades mattered was when I went into my credential and masters programs. I'm a nerd 🤓 so I liked getting straight A's haha 😄 😆 Erik not so much lol
@michellem4118
@michellem4118 2 жыл бұрын
@@NeitaFajita Completely understand I was the straight A person too. Now I question getting a degree depending on what your doing most people do not use their degree or needed a bachelor's in anything because "it's required for the job". When I was growing up they pushed degrees at us saying we would make so much more money if we had a college education. Now I am like once I take off student loans, that pay doesn't look so good and I'm not making all the dough. I am currently in a new job where they are quite litterally training me from the ground up for it. That is the new norm where jobs are specialized and you are trained specifically for them (downside is that the "specific set of skills" doesn't transfer)

@@NeitaFajita oh and btw... the first time at a flea market I feel like it a test of the waters and getting out there. I am proud of you guys for trying it. Once your there and express interest in moving to a spot with more traffic and the people who run the place see you have quality stuff they will want to get you into more premium spots, because it's a win win for them. Better spot probably costs more AND they have someone selling quality in those spots
@NeitaFajita
@NeitaFajita 2 жыл бұрын
I totally agree about degrees!! Some jobs you need one but I feel like for the most part they just put people into debt and make it so hard to thrive financially because of the student loans. Most people don't even get jobs in the degree/major they went to school for. I think students should be taught about all the different options they can do.
