In this video, I am discussing some really huge social-emotional developmental milestones that are emerging between 4 and 5 years old. These major milestones can help you navigate more complex conversations with your kiddo, and foster emotional intelligence development.

Yes! I agree to all of these milestones in social emotional development. As a preschool teacher, I am grateful to see all of these milestones from the beginning to the end. It’s amazing to see how much growth each child develops throughout one year in preschool!

The information provided is really beneficial in helping us realize how we should better recognize the significant developmental milestones of children and how to guide them appropriately through new experiences. At times or in certain circumstances, it may be challenging to help children understand or be aware of the feelings of those around them, but we should never forget that this is the first step in helping them to develop emotions like empathy and compassion for others, which will enable them to connect with people more effectively. Also, we should commend them for the gradual improvements they make at each milestone they reach and support in their social and emotional growth.

Hello, I am a stepmom to a wonderful girl who is 4. Her mother and the environment her mother lives in is quite toxic, lots of shouting and the mother pretends that she (the mother) is a baby and combines that with her sexuality. Her mother's issues are showing up through her daughter, and we don't even know which direction to address this. The child never wants to go home to the mother, and arrives from the mother's regressed, babbling like a baby and pretends she's helpless. Where do we go for help with this?

Do you have any book recommendations for introductions to racial/social justice for a 4 year old? I appreciate your work!

Wtf. Why would you teach racism to a child?! Justice is justice. Racial justice is racism.

What can I do as a mother more specifically to help my daughter? I’d love to chat in private so I can give more context 😊

Hey Dennis. I’m speaking to mothers directly for a reason. This doesn’t mean fathers aren’t welcome, or can’t relate to the subjects I’m speaking about. But it does mean that if you’re offended by me addressing mothers, you may not enjoy this space very much. My hope is that you can hold space for mothers and their journey in motherhood, AND be able to take the information you’re looking for and apply it how you see fit.

This ain’t about you or us (men), Dennis lol don’t be emotionally petty on such a positive video. Any parent that ended up here seeking to progress their child deserves a petty free comment section AT THE LEAST. Continue to be a great father my guy 🤞🏽✊🏽🔥🤝
