A Nelson F70 1" full circle impact sprinkler. This Nelson branded sprinkler is a Rain Trol/Western Brass designed impact sprinkler. It has a 1 inch MNPT connection with dual opposing nozzles, a 3/16" (4.76mm) drive nozzle with adjustable breakup pin and a 1/4" (6.35mm) range nozzle with an internal stream straightener. It's running at 70 PSI (4.8 bar) irrigating a radius of 66ft (20 meters) with a flow rate of 23.8 GPM (5.4 m3/h). This full circle impact sprinkler is still produced today as the Buckner Superior 300SAX.

Yes it is! A pretty good growing season so far, it's been really dry, been keeping everything irrigated.

All you need now is a hose reel! And you can set a sprinkler in the field and have the reel pull it towards it and shut off when it's done. I would love to get one for myself but i have no where to put it. Those reels are massive!

One of those would be nice to have, I did see a couple on FB Marketplace, pretty pricey still for used ones. Maybe one day I will get one.

@@photocontrol maybe you can find one cheap with a P200 or 205G mounted on it! That'd be a nice addition to your collection. But I wonder if your setup would run it. Maybe if you used a custom washer as a nozzle like I did!

Ah yes. Another from the raintrol design it runs good on your setup. I have a Raintrol 300 that is the same as this. But I believe it needs cleaned out as it might be partially plugged in the drive nozzle. Gets great distance! I believe this is before Nelson in walla walla, WA as those had the smaller rectangular part of the drive arm. I have a walla walla F70 that is front/rear config as well. It's a F70A I believe.

Yes this model was from before Nelson in Walla Walla, sometime in the 70's. Interestingly it came with a internal rubber compression plug for the rear nozzle to allow the user to choose between operating the sprinkler with one or both nozzles. I also have a newer Walla Walla F70.

What water source are you feeding it with?

The water source is from a well, but as these bigger sprinklers have a larger flow rate than the well pump can produce, I fill up a large above ground pool and use a 7hp gas water pump to supply the sprinkler out in the field.
