@@MrMaul80During careful movement, you can choose where the noise is coming from. Then it would not make sense that you came by corridor A and put the noise marker in corridor C. Majin is right, even AR confirmed that in the past.

I think the yellow black striped lines at the top indicate if its an "A" or "B" room. But I agree now that I've seem it on a Table, and not just in the tabletop simulator demo, that you do kinda have to double check to see if you're already over the line or not.

Does the semi-coop nature still shine here? Or does that shared public objective change the dynamic of the game to be really focused a lot more on coop in a way that the original semi coop nature is not as strong and more of an afterthought? I dont own any nemesis but was hearing that was one of the big draws to the game and wasnt sure how this one handled it.

I'd suggest watching the Rolling Solo or One Stop Coop Shop playthroughs. Watching the gameplay will give you a solid picture of the experience. I found myself getting excited about certain rolls they made and the circumstances that arose, and at some point, I knew I'd love this game.

My first playthrough was a two players and I did enjoy it. I think three is optimal two is good, four might take a little longer but still good. I don't know how good solo would be

The best games are games that have high randomness, but allow players to deal with it using the right moves. In the game world its called 'odds mitigation'. Advanced Squad Leader is a great example of this. A new player will think its all RNG, yet the player who plays best almost always wins. That's the mark of a great game. I'm not so sure about this game.

OG if you like survival horror. Retaliation if you like action horror. I think just buying original makes sense to start, but can coexist both.

You do not need the other games and I wouldn't recommend getting them.

How does semi-coop work practically? Say for example that I drew the personal goal that required all other players to die for me to win the game. Do you just try to mess up what the other players are doing? Can you make attacks against other players during an opportune moment? I feel the whole traitor thematic would be much more powerful if friendly fire is possible. I'm not necessarily saying that I want it to be that way, but what kind of strategies are possible to eliminate another player?

In this game everyone will be given a public goal to achieve together, but each player will be given a private goal. You can work towards either, but working towards your private goal might hurt your allies.

@@troyvanleeuwen3296 no. But maybe you turn off the oxygen in a room or destroy the generator. Those are the types of objectives you might have.. doesn't mean you're actively being a bad player, but more playing for yourself.

How come you sold Retaliation and You kept original Nemesis? What were the pros and cons of each that made you get rid of Lockdown and Not Original Nemesis?

So the mechanic Changes that were brought in with lockdown weren't enough to justify me keeping two of the games that felt very similar. I prefer the OG nemesis theme more than the light/dark of lockdown.

While I feel the theme is cool and the game seems good. But I feel the game is too fiddly, and too many rules overhead. Oh if you burst you roll this if you shoot you do this. Needs to look after oxygen level ammo and everything. It will be a difficult one to table to be honest…set up and tear down likely to be a beast as well

I try to explain the mechanics so you understand that them at a deeper level so you can make a judgement on if it sounds go to you or not. Since we don't get a full game we only get samples of mechanics, this is the best we can reasonably do.

Im not 100% sure about the combat bc burst looks so strong and single shot looks a bit weak. Also how is combat working if 2 people are in one room? Do the aline attack one player or both? Also the card systen looks alo weird. You dont rly use the effects you just discard to do actions.

Thanks for the overview. Clarification, shooting in a room. At 10:50, you said the die has to be equal to or *greater* than the damage on the Alien. It's equal to or *lower* than the damage on the Alien.

I think you misheard what he said buddy. At 10:50 he stated correctly that the damage dealt onto the alien has to be equal to or greater than the die roll, so he was right. 👍🏻

@praedatorian8673 So buddy, if an alien has 2 damage, and you roll a 3, (die roll greater than the alien damage) the alien is not defeated. If an alien has 2 damage and you roll a 1 (die roll equal to or lower) the alien is defeated. That's not how I interpreted his statement. It sounded as if he was stating the opposite. No?

@@jedisparky I was told, "When shooting the aliens in a room, lower rolls are always better. Your weapon does 1 damage natively, and then you compare the dice roll to the total damage you've dealt. If the damage dealt is equal to or higher than the roll, you kill the alien." so if you roll lower numbers, the likelihood of having higher damage on the alien will mean you can kill the aliens.

@GameBrigade I would double check that. Other playthroughs it appears the alien is defeated when the die roll is equal to or *under* the existing damage. Think about it, It makes sense. Because If an alien has one damage and I shoot again, how easy is it to roll equal to or above a ONE? Only the ammo clip symbol on the die would miss. Equal to or *lower* is much tougher. Nemisis always does tougher.

Hmm… well… time will tell whether Nemesis Retaliation is good. I find it amusing that what most people are thinking they are playing is Zombicide.

That's an interesting analysis. I hadn't thought of that, but because of the amount of aliens that spawn and how you deal with them I can honestly see some resemblance.

Well for some very bizarre reason, I backed it, and went in with Collector's Pledge... I say bizarre because I don't like any previous ones nor I am into co-op games ... yet this version was calling to me on some unexplained level! I think it is also a new exploration thing I found attractive ... I am a sucker for exploration in any game

Did you pay the other versions on coop mode? Because i feel like this game really loses its special quality if you don't play it normally. The coop variant is a decent game, but it really shines on semi-coop

Were the rules easy to understand? I heard AR game rulesets are convoluted and poorly written.

So the rulebook I was given was 100% a prototype rulebook that isn't customer facing. I felt the rules for the most part were good. It didn't explain how shoot damage was applied very well so I had to clarify. It omitted things like what happens if all the fire tokens get placed. Overall though it felt more streamlined than the other Nemesis titles. Took similar concepts and just tweaked them to be a little smoother.
