It wasn't that bad last patch since it was just -6% life steal Vs 400G more BT. Now it's just pure utility.

It's not necessary. The only champ that really got affected for the worse was GP (and Draven, but he was too strong with it, it's a good nerf for him), and you have to admit that getting one shot by barrels isn't good gameplay. They just gotta change/buff trinity force and he'll be fine, same with Ezreal.

@@Ecliptor. feel like they could change GP specifically to facilitate this. Doesn't mean we have to take away his crit on barrels, but maybe have the chance to crit be via something unique, for example, for each barrel gain X amount of chance for the entire chain to crit.

Imo Nemesis is right here. Kraken Slayer is actually holding actual adc buffs hostage because of how good of a rush item it was. Due to the items power, other parts of adc power was nerfed as a result. That's why you see adcs complaing out about adcs' late game isn't even strong enough to justify playing them.

@@davidli2642 Yup. I would rather have both spikes on IE and BT instead of just one spike on Kraken Slayer. Kraken Slayer's gatekeeping is just an encouragement to people playing ADCs midlane and make everyone else bitching about 'ADC is OP' again and again.

ADC main. I haven’t plated enough to come to conclusions, but what I’ve felt like is that I don’t have a 4th crit item I wanna buy. I’ve seen people get the new bleed item, I will try it out forth, but in general, it’s ie -> zeal item -> last whisper item -> and now you are sad cause you already bought the good items, you gotta buy some crit trash item and then you can go bt. Or, if you are samira, collector ie ldr and again, you are sad, and then bt. Doesn’t feel good nor variable, always the same, idk, I feel like we lack options and there’s a lot of needs that aren’t covered. But for a class that should be late game focused that your fourth item is non existant feels so troll.

My biggest issue is, you’re either building lots of AD and no AS, or lots of AS and no AD… losing kraken as a crit item I think is the main reason for this, also navori and pd giving 0 ad feels bad. Like yeah once you get to 4 - 5 items it’s fine, but it does feel bad early

Stormrazor being removed actually makes no sense. Probably one of the healthiest items in the game, and they chose to remove it instead of nerf it. They could have just made it into an ADC Opportunity like item where getting a kill gives you that 1 seconds movement speed. Also no LS crit items anymore … so I just have to wait till last item then for any survivability if I want 100% Crit

My experience so far is that I feel MUCH weaker on the first item. Kraken was such a good 'all-in-one' item, especially in prolonged fights. But now, I feel even weaker when midlaners or junglers come in, if I stand there with my IE or a PD I feel like I have no chance in a fight until I get them both.

@@inksword6029 they put nlr into zhonyas and banshee which is dogshit, but I dont think any mage rushes either of these or rabadons. No other component is more than 900g and builds out of nothing else. Next one is pickaxe, also an ad item lmao.

The issue is aswell that there is no item that gives u atk spd ad and minons dmg for example. The IE into next crit items build is so useless.

Not sure if other kayle mains agree but trying ad kayle with the new stuff just feels too awkward. Last patch it was that ad was the better early game play style and ap scaled harder but you needed 6 items compared to 3 or 4 ad items. But it felt like I needed 6 ad items to be strong now and so I lost a lot of early game advantages I used to have against certain match ups. If I need 6 items to carry than it would be better to just go ap kayle and forget ad items. Also building ad items feels so weird. The build paths just felt too awkward during landing phase. It was all items that either give only ad or only attackspeed. Like last patch my favorite ad build was going kraken slayer first and then phantom dancer after for 40% crit some ad some att spd and some move speed. It felt really nice going for those too. But now. What do I go for for crit? My waves don’t get crit anymore after I build kraken slayer so my farming right when I hit level 11 feels a little weaker and if I build Infinity egde first then I don’t have attackspeed so it feels way too slow. If I build phantom dancer than I have the attack speed but no damage so my farming feels way weaker again. Do I just build 4 components and delay full items? That doesn’t seem right… idk. This is just my experience with the new items as a kayle one trick. Oh also farming early now sucks hard with noon quiver change. I don’t actually have enough damage to kill the minions under turret with it if I get behind and I q max to try farm more efficiently. Also the last 8 games I played today didn’t even get to 6 items. How tf are they supposed to be way stronger with the new items if they can’t even get to that point. It’s all been ffs or nexus kills.

I feel like kayle on hits is better with this kraken slayer buff on raw stats. Crits feels weird tho but the IE buff is massive so late game ad crit kayle is better but her path build is weird and I don't know what's even good to build first anymore for crit kayle. But kraken guinsoo terminus feels better than before because of kraken. AP is still the superior build late game tho, but still feels weak pre 3 items and 16 compared to AD.

The item changes suck, but Kraken wasn't that op last week. Also, I don't get why they just don't want adcs to build life steal now. There's so much random damage now, you get hit by half your hp randomly and now what? You have to base? Because sure as shit bloodline is not gonna heal you for anything, and since you have lower attack speed early, you probably want the attack speed rune instead.

Itemization is painful and unintuitive now, the fact that most adc now have to build kraken wich has lost his crit just to have some decent stats and not being a cannon minnion until your 3rd item is dumb. Having 25% crit is pointless if you have to build 1 non crit item at first, or items are just cancerous to build due to the high component costs (a bunch of BF and pickaxe in every AD item). Plus they completely removed a lot of items and completely butchered some (shieldbow, ER), so you end up building the same stuff over and over. Bad change

As a tank my first item is sunfire. Was bad before it's bad now, but it does the job ^^. Problem for adcs is they should have an opening bomb rush item at 2800 that does 30 ad 30as and 25% crit. It's not good but it's a quick spike to curve into their later stages for most of them. Heck you can make it cheaper if you wanted to. Mages have rush items tank do have different rush items, support have rush items, bruisers have rush items. Now rush item for adc is IE crit cloak and two shotting people if your champ alllow it if not you're probably picking wrong adc ^^.

No one should have mandatory rush items that you autobuy because they are stronger than other items. Itemization should be more involving and reactive. You should buy an item because you need the effect. Not because it's by far the strongest item in the game because it has Exodia stats.

@@henrikswanstrom9218 I wish. But what else do you rush on shen or ornn for example ? You need to rush bami and they gutted the first bami part in terms of aoe dmg that you need to clear waves on shen and not waste and extra spell for ornn so you can preserve mana. Cause item completion was so shit they had to buff it so people would stop sitting on bami. Like they predicated tanks to rush a bami item for seasons and seasons and their entire balance was made around that dmg item basically. Only thing you can do is take bami into a full item that has value by component maxxing since tanks item are shit to complete most of the time. I agree with you on the basis but like some champ will always have a starter item they made trinity shit for example but if you're camille or jax what gives you ad haste attack speed and hp ? You got nothing else and it contains the sheen proc you need. Adcs had kraken or stormrazor or statik but instead of making them sub par and not really expansive they gave them monster stat decided to nerf storm into turbo buffin kraken for no reason. and changed statik every other patch cause of garbage design. Most mages need a mana item first and they at least got 6 of them they're not forced to rush them but they can't function if they don't do it. Pretty much only supports can build anything they need first now that shurelia is down for enchanters. So i don't know how you would make that work cause game is about curving and you usually want to gain some lead and close the game on two to three items makes stuff complicated to not have an opening item.

@@jeremiemarion3966 I think having opening items are fine, that's not the issue here. But I think the itemization should be based around the effects of the item and not the stats. Bamis and Sunfire are good examples of good starter items because you're buying them specifically for the Burn to help with farm and offensive potential. Kraken Slayer was a badly designed item because the stats alone on it was why you wanted it. So much so that EVERY rightclicker needed to buy it because the combination of crit, %dmg and AS were such insane multipliers to your damage that you needed to get it. If this wasn't the reason why you bought it, but because you want the onhit effect to open up your build I would be fine with it. The concept of starter items aren't an issue imo. The question is why an item is a starter item for your build or role. Starting with early Sunfires or Heartsteel makes sense because you're seeking the effects. ADC itemization is in a really bad spot right now because for ADCs more so than other roles, it really feels like you're buying their items for the stats first and item effects secondary. I wish this wasn't the case. Personally I would like to see the stats on most items nerfed substantially while having the primary effects you gain from items buffed to compensate. Getting extra stats simply isn't interesting. It doesn't augment your playstyle or what you do really. All it does is increase your DPS. If they instead focused itemization around the predominant effects making them really powerful, that's simply more fun in my opinion. Items like Zhonyas or Protobelt et.c. are just always going to be infinitely more interesting than X item being bought because it gives you Y% more dps.

Having an item with exodia stats just isn't good for the game. Since it's the only item with the 3 best stats in the game it just automatically becomes a mandatory buy on all right click champions. This is the exact same issue with itemization in MMOs and ARPGs. Like in Diablo3 how EVERY single build wanted Gloves with Crit dmg, Crit chance and Attack Speed because these stats always tend to be the highest multipliers to any form of throughput. If RIOT adds another dmg, crit chance and AS item it just automatically makes it so all items aren't created equally again. In the longrun, it's just better for the game if rightclick items have 2 offensive stats and a third utility/defensive stat. It keeps the balance and item options way more flexible. Item design in League is already extremely shitty since it focuses WAY too much on the item stats. The primary focus of items should be the effect it gives, not the stats. When you buy a Kraken Slayer, you should want to buy it for the pure damage procc to deal with tanks or to just add high extra dps. Not because it has the perfect MMO stats.

Since it's early season I get to play against shit players but from what I have seen so far. The items feels really nice and it looks like I multiply lead to a higher degree because of it. Let's not forget that it might bc of what I stated earlier.

My biggest complain i have is the removed crit from kraken and its build path, old path was good to decent most of the time but new path is terrible and viego is nerfed by the removel of crit

Yeah the old path was amazing for adc's. I don't think it's terrible if you build it the right way. Recurve bow is great and then you can build 3 long swords. Just build the shovel last and it's not that bad.

@@jklul4210 Viego's Q dmg is increased by crit chance up to 200% increased dmg, his Q % current hp on hit can crit and his double auto attack can crit and his ult deals up 240% dmg based on crit chance

Shieldbow, wits end giving tenacity (on an adc that gets oneshot on a cc regardless???), mercurial are such dead items, they should legit just redesign them completely. Kraken is viego, belveth and no one else item, who else consistently build kraken rn? On hit is alright but crit items right now feels overtuned and unless u're twitch with R to outrange others, u just get 2 hit by anything. Statikk is a dead item lol, give it crit back. Why is collector such a nice crit item even..lol Essence reaver is dogshit, idk whats good bout that item, getting mana back from auto when Aoe blue buff is a thing feels so useless lol

I just hate hate HATE bf sword so much it's insane. I don't mind first item being bad, it's fair for a class that revolves around late game to be bad early game, but the buildpaths for this items are so bad i can't even bother playing crit adcs. Just make bf build out of 2 longswords or something

Well THANKS, what they did to some of these items is awful. Just look at Bloodthirster and "Immortal" Shieldbow, while Bloodthirster has Life steal, it has no crit, and while IS has crit... it has no life steal, I mean, c'mon, where's my fucking sustain, Riot? If I want to go full crit, either I delay the 100% crit to get sustain mid build or just get full crit then get the stat with the last item losing a lot of it while in mid game. Not to talk about Kraken, the anti tanks nerfs, or the Lethal Tempo removal. Fuck off, all of this feels terrible.

honestly going kraken slayer as rush item even on crit adc's is not a terrible option in this patch. it takes longer to get your crit chance going but your 1st item spike is massive compared to IE rush and you get some much needed movement speed from it. And you can still reach 100% crit with it

idk, i literally just rush IE and if i get a crit i just oneshot everything. riot balancing by putting in more damage in the game so even tiktok attention span players can play the game. its like durability patch never happened yes adc lost items but the buildable items are all op as shit so there is less thought in the same and less skill in building properly, classic riot patch. why habe to think about situational items when u can also just have meta items be 20x as good

Build paths are awful. Bot lane is snowball into BF sword win lane win game. I understand that KS was great, but why have terrible build paths that for the most part build into a nerfed dagger? Dumb... ADCs are strong this patch because of how disgusting the snowball is. Surprise surprise Samira is busted in a patch where if you get 3kills you win the game with a buffed collector, IE, and BT. SHOCKING!

I try no boot adc recently and it's surprisingly good, buy PD instead of boot, you got just a little bit less ms but you got more asp, crit, and no minion block.

The class is degenerate in current design philosophy of the game. There was a massive push for showy, high-speed gamplay. Over the years sustained dps value continued to drop because Riot needed the game to be flashy for the pro scene and fast to grab the zoomers attention to maintain player counts. ADC isn't meant to survive in a burst or quick trade meta. Which has become the whole game now. The goal of having ADCs deal 60% the damage of a full build mage Q W or E per auto attack is ridiculous. IMHO the only way to straighten the class out is to increase their standard AA range by 75units across the board and reduce their dps by around 12% to compensate. They don't have the space to skirt the edge of fights anymore due to mobility creep. Otherwise they have to become another burst dps class with no agency or else they simply just destroy every obj without any struggle at 2 items and gg at 20 mins eveytime.

I completely agree with you! The game has so much burst damage doing dps has almost no place yet riot adds more attack speed items for adcs thinking that adcs need more dps. The problem is that adcs cant survive to do dps they either need defensive stats and movement speed on items or more range to deal with the meta. Having attack speed and no ad on items won't ever help adcs.

Gave adcs 25% crit but made no first item buys for adcs haha the essence reaver chance was terrible in my opinion. It directly killed at least 3 champs ezreal, smolder, gp. It should be reverted so adcs can at least build it as first item. Or give back kraken or static shiv. Speaking on static shiv. That item is comically bad now lol it literally does no damage and has no crit or ad. Who the fuck wants to build that. I’d rather them remove it from the game at this point.

Nemesis consistently being the ADC advocate and hes a mid main. Disagree on kraken overpowered though, at least for most of season 11 forward. Seasons 11 and 12 galeforce overshadowed it, and at various points shieldbow. 12:10 it was definitely overpowered, but honestly i think most adc items just sucked for season 13 so the default was kraken. It was a decent one item spike though

Merc Scimitar is a travesty, we had a non crit QSS item, they just removed it at the start of the season and gave it back in a different form, so we just lost an item there for nothing. Even if it wasn't good it had it's uses, if you get hit by an Ashe R without Cleanse you're just dead as adc

That's your fault for getting caught out. A mage hit by Ashe R also dies. ADCs are not tanky because a tanky unit with the highest damage output/carry potential would be broken as fuck.

Adc is masters is 3min queue time which is ONE MINUTE LONGER than for mid that has been by far the longest queue in euw forever. If their items are trash and the role itself is weak why is it so popular. @@richard8670 imagine not recognizing how not going oom and being able to freely spam your abilities without having to back after two or three spell rotations. Draven can start using w to get his attack and movespeed boost all game, corki can spam his q and w that all cost over 80 mana per use. You regen about 30 mana in a single auto attack so just three autos gets you a free spell. Otherwise you have to pay attention to your mana and hold back your spell casts for when you need it.

my main problem with the new items is that the damage items are all so hare to build and the attack speed items are uselss after you buy two of them becuase there is no way to break the attack speed cap besides hob or playing jinx like i played twitch varus ashe kog so i could space glide and now the fastest i can go is less than half of the potential like if they brought back lethal tempo with 0% attack speed scaling i would probably still take it riot limiting the game is what makes it unfun for me if i want to play 5ie draven let me if i want to build full attack speed make is possible after riot started removing/reworking items every 2 months game just feels worse

I've been saying this shit BEFORE the patch was released; ADCs got nerfed hella hard. no anti-tank items or runes + some items lose crit + shieldbow trash + kraken trash for crit + Essence reaver destroyed = a lot of weak ADCs. a fed Diver vs a fed ADC, my money is gonna be on the diver 100% of the time. especially if the diver built some armor and heartsteal

He forgot yuntail wild arrows, which im not sure yet if its good or not, but for sure its not good early/as a rush item I will ignore on hit adcs Basically the problem is that you have 5 slot (1 its boots always ) Ie and lord dom are mandatory 4th 5th item will probably be bt Then there are 2 categories, need attack speed or no. If you are one the attack speed champs (jinx, xayah etc) you can pick one of the zeal items, cheap, good stats fine. Then you have space for 1 more crit item. Shieldbow its bad (samira nilsh only maybe?), collector, yuntail, or essence are basically the only options left, and essence its honestly a bad item imo, in a sense that probably only sivir needs that much mana. If you are one of the champs that dont like/can work without attack speed (samira, aphelios if you want) The build gets more expensive and with less choice even. If you noticed, basically all those items have bf in the recipe which makes them really hard to buy early and early to midgame. Yuntail doesnt have it , but early its just bad

It need Cr to proc (so better later when you have more crit) and the proc scale of ad (so better later when you have more ad) Only rushable options imo are collector ie or essence (Sivir?) which are bf sword items .I doubt people will just rush zeal items ( bf into zeal item maybe?) , lord Dom first not really so you are left with those

Adc didn’t get worse it just get linear. Like they remove so many options they might as welll add auto buy into the game for adc because where are the situational decision making? There’s still decisions between _which_ stat sticks you want. LDR vs Mortal Reminder is a great example of how simplifying stats can create a more enjoying experience when deciding between items. With LDR you get 5 more AD and 5 more % armor penetration, but with Mortal Reminder you exchange that 5 AD and %pen for grevous wounds. No need to try to gauge how much max health the enemies have compared to you, just a simple value of pen+AD vs antiheal. Still rewards players who identify the correct option, but doesn’t overcomplicate things with a ton of passives.

The shift in adc power to 3/4 items (and removing an entire playstyle worth of items from adc) means that only hyper carries like jinx/aphelios and AD stackers like Jhin/cait will be good. Adc might be better as a role, but the pool of viable champs seems to have shrunk by a lot.

Wait what kraken is better for on hit champions that don’t need crit like varus, Ashe. Jinx is still strong even with kraken and lethal tempo gone. And crit champs got a huge buff with the 25% buff. And they mostly scale with AD like cait, aphelios, draven, MF. This is balanced in my opinion.

Kracken was broken because every other crit item was dog shit, and riot rather than fixing the roles fundamental issue said "lets just ductape more damage to them" like they do to solve EVERY problem in this game. Whats that? Tanks feel like dogshit to play? SLAP MORE DAMAGE INTO THEIR KITS. Enchanters are struggling to deal with assassins because their cooldowns are non existant at this point? HERE HAVE MORE DAMAGE.

Im sorry but this is such a BS argumentation xD Fighters has 3 good items and the rest is at best mediocre, but the majority is just straight up shit. ADCs have legit 7 really good items (with IE being being really OP) and the rest is bad and you are going to tell me that this is not enough when other classes have much less to work with? Like what is BS attitude nowadays that every ADC item has to be OP or its considered unplayable. Legit trash attitude. Riot said that the items are intentionally designed this way. 2 core items big powerspike - Heavy AD + Heavy AS - into 3 weaker purpose (situational) items which is btw similar to other classes. You spike at 2 items, BUT if you opt into utility on your second item you have to pay the tradeoff fee of a delayed damage powerspike, just like every other champion class.

Pd second deals almost the same as ldr except it gives massive ms. And ldr deals more dmg than IE as 3rd every single time. PS: also you don't want to only build components as all these items have amazing gold cost efficiency when fully build PS2: IE -> LDR is like 6% more dmg than kraken -> pd, except you get 60 less ms 😀

@@crazy75able You gain maybe a bit more DPS with Kraken but that is while hitting a dummy on 1 HP and with some levels, if we keep in mind Kraken does 150% dmg based on missing health its very likely its about equal to IE or even slightly worse and you have to keep hitting one target to effectively make use of Kraken effect, so when switching targets, its 100% worse. On second Item, idk how you think Kraken does better as you have about the same DPS with IE --> PD already despite having the 150% of Kraken active. On 3 Items, assuming you go IE --> PD --> LDR, you have a LOT more DPS than your Kraken build also despite having 150% of Kranken damage active. All that while still ignoring Kraken does perma 150% while testing and ignoring how you wont make full use of Kraken effect due to target switching. So I have no idea how you came to that conclusion...
