Dude, they have about 20 "styles"! The unexpected is pretty much Nemophila's genre. They love to mix stuff up, but they also do full-on metal/metalcore. Dive on in: there are no bad Nemophila tracks, just a few left-field things that fck with our expectations.

The members of nemophila are musicians from different bands. They are all excellent musicians. And nemophila is a very unique and diverse band, with various genres of music appearing in their catalog. As a real live performance, i recommend《oiran》live(recent one) or《rise》live as the next!🤘🏻🌸🤘🏻

Nemophila never disappoints. They do all styles try RISE or Adabana next!

They are basically a metal band, but will absolutely bend/combine genres. If you want nostalgia, they do a perfect 80s-style metal ballad called "Odyssey." I always say start with their first song, "Oiran (KZfaq version)." And I think their best song is "Adabana." Mayu's screams are some of the best. My very strong opinion is that lyrics are not important in rock music. I see them as bonus material. Some of their videos will have subtitles. Like Band-Maid they combine Japanese and English in many of their songs. They also do a lot of covers (many during Covid), such as Iron Maiden, Motley Crue, Helloween, Kiss, and Linkin Park, to name a few.

Extremely talented and diverse band. Saw them live twice in Southern Cal and they were fire. Check out "Zen", "Revive", "Rise" & "Dissenion". So many extremely talented bands coming out of Japan, with the all-female groups topping the lists.

Yes, that 'little girl' can scream like that. Her name is Mayu, and I love her screams, great cleans too. Band was formed in 2019 when she was looking for a backing band for a live session. Mayu called her former classmate, bassist Hariguchi-san. They got Tamu Murata, a highly in demand session drummer, and guitarist Hazuki (ex- Disquala) and Saki (Mary's Blood). Saki has recently decided to leave the band, an amicable split. The band plans on continuing as a 4 piece, from what I've heard Mayu will play some guitar, and the solos will be more guitar and bass, instead of the 2 guitars they've had. They wanted to name the band after a flower because they are all female. A nemophila is a 5 petal blue and white flower, native primarily to the western US. This song dropped the same day as their 3rd album, Evolve. It is a bit different from a lot of their stuff. Around the same time they released a new official live for the song "Oiran", their first ever single.

The triumvirate of the early 70's was Zep, Sabbath & Purple, which started the hard rock scene. The new triumvirate is Band-Maid, Lovebites and these ladies. I wouldn't pay Swifty money to see Taylor, but I would pay that kind of money to see these 3 bands together. They are the new pioneers of a fresh new rock sound. Nemophila and Hanabie are my two favorite Japanese bands right now. Both ridiculous good live and with 2 great Screamo lead singers. I heard both leads sing Nemophila's Zen together last June and it was earth shattering.

In their song "ZEN", she screams for almost the entire song. It's brutal. Their song "Odyssey" is the polar opposite. It's like an 80's power ballad. You might listen to five or six songs and not hear the same style.

This band is just pure amazing they are the best new heavy band going .They do it all you can not put them in a box .There isn't a bad track out by them there all fire .More please you wont be disappointed.

Love Nemophila. As you listen to more of their songs you'll hear a broad range of style. You mentioned Kittie a couple of times. After over a decade they are putting out a new album this year! They've dropped a couple of singles from the album. One pure harsh vocals, the other is mainly cleans with some harsh.

You really need to check out “Zen” by them if you like Mayu’s scream!

In this song, the bass player Haraguchi is using the "thumb" technique used by Koga from Gacharic Spin Koga is one of the most famous bass player in Japan, and even she do, with their group Gacharic Spin an incursion into heavy metal with Fuki, the singer from Unlucky Mortheus with a made-up band called Doll$Box. Sadly they only make two albums (one of them really short), but you must also understand that both of them have their own bands and a tight schedulle. Just try someday any song from Doll&Box to see this bass technique. Btw, the band Gacharic Spin is... well, you can´t classify their style. Maybe rock-punk-disco-jazz-heavy and who knows what. Also the drummer of Gacharic Spin can do a really harsh vocals.

Dude, with greatest of respect to Band-Maid and Lovebites whom I love dearly, Nemophila are freakin special. They have absolutely no worries about spanning whatever genre of metal they feel like doing and nail everything. Mayu is an incredibly unique and versatile vocalist and everyone in the band is beyond capable of playing whatever they want, they're phenomenal. I highly recommend checking out Zen live, Oiran live, Adabana, Style, Hypnosis (underrated banger) and Now I Here live. That should give you some idea of the breadth of their sound. It should be mentioned that Saki (guitarist in the white t-shirt in this video) recently left the band. As far as we know, this was just a personal decision and there's no hard feelings among anyone, but what that means is they've decided to continue as 4 and are restructuring their songs to fit the new setup (with Mayu playing rhythm guitar on some of the songs as shown in a recent live on Instagram and some of the solos seemingly filled in by Haraguchi on the bass, wild 😂). This band is an unstoppable force with a real love for what they do, so I hope you're gonna continue to dive in man, it's worth it 🤘👍

Welcome to the kickass world of Nemophila. Been following them since damn near their beginning 5 years ago and saw them last year in Dallas. Kick ass band. Many amazing songs. They get more heavy and thrashy than this in a lot of their songs. They also play straight up rock and hard rock even a few cool rock ballads. Try Oiran Live, Zen Live. Those are actual live and heavy as hell. Also try Adabana , Dissension, RAITEI, Revive and there is so much more . This band is very diverse too.

A great song from a fantastic band with a twin guitar attack. But this is one of the very few songs without their trademark amazing guitar solos. Yes, studio audio from the album. Every song is in a different style, but always Hard and Fluffy. Try OIRAN.

Japanese women own metal/rock now.... in the west you still got great new bands, but the older groups still got the same sounds/style.... Japan doesnt give a shit... Lovebite will throw a piano and acoustic guitar in the middle of a thrash fest, Nemophila will mix in screams and cleans and nu metal....I can see Nemophila jamming next to paramor, pretty reckless or Avril Levigne back in the day, and it will not look or sound out of place...🤘😁🤘

Yeah Nemophila to me is as good if not better than baby metal. Top Japanese bands to me are female, Nemophila Band maid Hanabie, Bridear and Trident. These all compete with being on par with love bites
