Legal reasons prevented them from remixing any of the OG tracks. That's why they made all the other tracks soundalikes. Except this one, this one sounds like an original composition (and frankly it's the best theme in the game)

単品で聞くとそんなに悪いと思わない。 ただ、ゲームプレイ中の曲として考えると、効果音に紛れてどの音も中途半端にしか聞こえない。 これは音量設定の問題ではなく、あるいみ繊細だからだと思う。 前にテレビアニメ用のBGMを制作した作曲家の話を聞いたけど、 効果音に紛れない音作りをする必要があり、普段の楽曲制作とはまた違った工夫が必要だったと言っていた。 今回もそれと同じような問題が起きているのかもしれない。知らんけど

It's not really death metal. Death metal usually incorporates poorly tuned instruments. It's more along the v lines of speed or symphonic.

It is all opinions. I find this version extremely superior to the original's boss theme. Remember this is the normal boss theme and not the magician's. The original sounds like an extremely generic electronica dance song done on broken instruments.

Don't get me wrong, I love what they did with it..... but it almost feels like a wasted effort. The song is surprisingly long for a boss fight that barely lasts longer than a minute to a minute and a half depending on how good you are. Not to mention it just gets drowned out by the sound of gunfire and RELOAD every 2 seconds (but so does most of the ost I guess) I mean I guess it's great if you want to look it up, but it's too good for the gameplay itself. XD

This may very well be the most generic and unmemorable boss theme I've ever heard. How we got this in place of the epicness that is the boss theme from the original game absolutely boggles my mind.

I don't listen to generic boss music. I only listened to this track once because I wanted to see how they'd handle the original theme in the remake.
