Quick reminder: The developers of the remake didn't do a bad "remake" of the OST, they only did what they could. As the original composer Tatsuya refused to give license to remake their music or even accepted to collaborate. People need to understand that this is not bad because they wanted, this was a fairly accurate version of the music without having copyright issues.

@@stuarthough8440 first of all we noticed that the music was changed, i tried to......enjoying every single melody, btw it's still good in some aspects. Second thing and most important is gameplay, graphic (maybe good) and sound effect of boss movement really nice, i appreciate that new one, but to compare about difficult challenge with thod1 (not so far like thod2 & 4) it's a big nerf, just like for kids under 5yo. In my opinion the hardest magician is thod4 ver (fastest of all ver, more tank of health, new skills and effect is good as well). If they knew and remastered the boss base on thod4 or can improve some more tricks on the boss, it will be masterpiece as Dr.Curien said.

The OG Magician theme is simply a classic so I kept my expectations modest for this version, and it's not half bad. I like it. Good job team.

This could've been better, but I do have to give the composer a lot of credit for at least trying to get it sounding as close as they can to the original. Apparently copyright issues with the original composer was why the music had to be remade. I hope Sega could at least get into contact with the original composer of HOTD1 in a future update to include the original tracks, just like what they did with the Panzer Dragoon Remake

@@condroid3000 If you see it as it's own thing it is a technically bad game, however it still is fun. I just think as a remake it really is horrible. Not extra stuff, runs like ass and no new content or the original to unlock. Why? Cause it would mean they gave a shit about this game which they sadly didn't. You can compare that to the Xbox and Wii ports for example. Runs like butter, unlockable classics and more are found in those.

If this was the original song that played instead of the one we know and love, I think I'd have ended up enjoying it and remembering it just as much. Really feels like the composer did a great job at making it unique, while still greatly invoking the sound of the original.

Honestly If The Magician had Two health bars with Two Phases.I'd put this as the First Phase while the OG theme as the Second Phase. That's how much i like this music. It's not bad by no means,It's super catchy and got that charm and you can tell the composer tries the hardest to pay homage to the OG,It just doesn't give that final boss music feeling.

I love how you can still hear elements of the original track considering that the remake team didn't get the permission to use them so they had to construct a new melody while still staying true to the style of the original.

at this point, I share in the consensus that the original's absence is disappointing, but the new score is acceptable. I just wish they hadn't miserably nerfed the Magician's moves.

Guess it was due to the difference in controls but one thing noticeable is that he has a lot more HP compared to the original.

I also theorized that they wanted to compensate for the controller players but didn't give an option in the menu to have "FINAL BOSS CLASSIC DIFFICULTY" to have Magician's lightning-fast movements and off-screen cheap shots which I really, REALLY, miss about him. This isn't The Magician that you fight in the remake. It's his cousin, The Wizard and he's known to go too easy on the AMS.

Tbh I really like this theme I know the original is still the best but what I like about this one is like The original sounds like a epic fight theme while this one sounds like magical fight theme with creepy vibes I also want to point out about the copyright thing from Sega They might had made a remix of the original theme but they just can't because of yeah copyright

I get people's issues with this theme, but I actually really like it Magician had so many great versions of his theme over the years, so this "karaoke" style one kinda pays respect to the OG by expecting you to already remember it, meaning magician's theme reached legendary status :)

@@stuarthough8440Because SEGA would have to contact the original composer for permission. It would suck if that person didn't give their permission, was dead, or SEGA didn't really greenlight the musical aspect for the soundtrack.

Yup. It still slaps. Even if it's different. Seems they changed the title theme from the original, and thus changed The Magician's theme so that it was still a remix of the title theme. But that begs the question of why they changed the title theme?

It's so... weird that they couldn't use these original songs for copyright reasons... given that the Magician's Theme was literally used in one of the most recent games of the series, the fourth one. That said, they damn well tried, and honestly, it paid off. I do like this one quite a lot, it's just weird that it sounds so similar yet so different.

I like it, the original songs are good enough to not really need to be remade but the new ones have their moments and you could always mod the old songs in to replace the new ones if it bothers you that much. I hope whoever made this OST returns to give us their spin on 2's and ESPECIALLY 3's OST

On one side we have this game's OST; which is good and this Magician's theme is okay. Reason why didn't do because of copyright and the OG composer didn't collaborated. And the other side of the spectrum we have Yoko Shimomura rearranging one of her early works (Both LiveALive and Super Mario RPG) as a videogame composer which they are just magnificent. Man quite the difference between remakes with a year of difference between each

Ya know, if it weren't for the fact that it's replacing arguably the greatest final boss video game track of all time, I'd be okay with this. Like if this were the final boss theme of a brand new House of the Dead I would have absolutely no issue. I do love it. But having it be THE MAGICIAN'S theme is what I gots a problem with.

Gonna be honest, both the og and the remake bop, and they feel interchangeable, with neither one being better or worse. And to those who don't like this, a remake is designed to take the Fundamental story and gamplay, and add more, like new music and voice acting, or better graphics. They should still add an option to switch to the original soundtrack if the player wants.

If The Magician had two phases, this works as a Phase 1 theme while the original works as Phase 2. Yeah, it's not as good as the original but what are you gonna do aside from modding?

Is this one of those tracks where they have several versions and the intensity of the fight determines the track playing? I think the version starting at 7:20 sounds like the only complete version of the song, while the others are missing instruments or segments assigned to those instruments.
