On Day 7 of our trip to Bhutan, we first started off by eating an amazing Bhutanese food breakfast. For lunch we enjoyed one of the best Nepali meals I’ve had. And finally in the late afternoon, we drove to Haa, Bhutan, and checked into a homestay.
Yangkhil Restaurant and Bar - For breakfast, Yinga and I went to Yangkhil Restaurant and Bar to eat a local Bhutanese food breakfast. When we arrived, they hadn’t yet finished cooking all the dishes, but they did have a few dishes ready. The dish of the meat was the shukam shakam datshi, dry white chilies with dry beef in cheese. Additionally, the chili sauce here was on point!
Nepali food at Cypress Hotel - For one of the best Nepali food restaurants in Thimphu, Bhutan, you hafe to go to Cypress Hotel. It’s a small friendly family run Nepali restaurant and they serve outstanding food. We had a Nepali feast, we couldn’t stop eating because it was so good.
In the afternoon we then continued on to Haa Valley, Bhutan, where we’d spend the next couple days. It’s a beautiful place in Bhutan to visit. We checked into Haa Valley Farm Stay (Ugyen & Doley) and then had a delicious Bhutanese home-cooked meal including turnip leaves, dry pork and beef, and cheese.
Disclosure:
It was an honor to be invited by MyBhutan to visit Bhutan to explore Bhutanese food and culture. Thank you to MyBhutan Productions for making my trip and this video possible!

Just need some spices which is pretty easy to find in local grocery store. I have seen some in walmart, Tescos, Asda and I think even in Sainsbury. So you wont have to go looking anywhere else.

+prateek goyal - Yeah, right - like there has been so much peace throughout the history of Asia, the Middle East and the rest of the 'Eastern' world. And yeah, all that crappy 'Western' influence - like all that which enabled the terrible technology like the computers and Internet that allows you to view this video and type ignorant comments on your computer/cell. What I've learned from the Western developed technological interconnectivity available is that there are hateful, ignorant fools all over the world. But I'm sure you would prefer to live in a mud hut, cooking your food on hot rocks, dying of all kinds of diseases without Western developed medicines. Get over yourself.

- 😂 I swear, Mark, your day must go something like this: Wake up, shoot food video, edit food video, telepathically determine when @edgesofearth is hungry...and then RUSH to the computer and post the video. I'm starving, and *BING* my alerts tell me that Mark has posted another video where he is going to zoom in close, talk about the aroma, talk about the amazing taste, and tell me that I need to try it. Meanwhile, I am riding on the back of a motorbike in Vietnam...trying not to die from the crazy traffic...and trying not to pass out from hunger. Thanks, Mark for the ironically-perfect timing...every time 😂🙃

@@nhanngo6494 actually you shouldnt scrape the spoon with your teeth. By the time one reaches 50-55 the teeth start getting weak and by 60 most of them are gone. Scraping with spoon weakens the teeth over the long run, as it slowly and slowly unroots it from the muscle.. That is why Indians prescribed eating food with hands and whoever followed never lost a tooth till death. Unfortunately some Westerners take this on their ignorant self esteem..

This is my favourite of your Bhutan videos, but seriously Mark, how about trying the dishes one or two at a time with the rice, instead of piling them all on top of each other to create a giant jumble of deliciousness. Okay wait, that sounds good too, you're right. Cheers! :)

xnightxamex I noticed that too. I'm no nutritionist but my initial thought was to wonder if the fat and/or protein content (of dairy products) somehow helps the body in withstanding the cold weather?
